AID&E - AI Governance & Responsible AI - Senior - Consulting
Job description
Location: Anywhere in Country
At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.
We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Responsible AI and AI governance professional with 5+ years of experience who is passionate about helping organizations adopt AI responsibly, from strategy through hands-on implementation. In this role, you will assess AI and technology governance maturity, design Responsible AI frameworks and control objectives, and implement those controls across the AI lifecycle, embedding them into platforms, data pipelines, MLOps/LLMOps workflows, access models, and GRC tooling. You will move clients from policy to practice by configuring governance tooling, automating evidence collection, standing up monitoring and guardrails, and operationalizing target-state operating models across people, process, policy, and technology. Your ability to connect business strategy, risk, and technology to build trusted, scalable, and auditable AI programs will be crucial.
Your key responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Lead current-state assessments and peer benchmarking of AI and technology governance structures, policies, processes, and technology capabilities to define target-state design and prioritized remediation.
- Design and implement Responsible AI control frameworks, translating regulatory and policy requirements into control objectives, technical control specifications, evidence standards, and testing procedures.
- Implement technical Responsible AI controls across the AI lifecycle, including use-case intake, risk tiering, bias and fairness testing, explainability, LLM guardrails, content safety, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and continuous monitoring.
- Configure and deploy AI governance, data governance, and GRC platforms to operationalize AI inventories, model registries, approval workflows, lineage, and automated evidence collection.
- Embed governance controls into MLOps/LLMOps and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., pre-deployment gates, evaluation checks, logging, and audit trails) so controls are enforced by design rather than reviewed after the fact.
- Design and implement access governance, role-based access, and segregation of duties controls across ERP and cloud AI environments (e.g., Oracle Cloud, Azure, AWS), balancing security, efficiency, and user experience.
- Drive deployment, adoption, and sustainment of governance programs through phased roadmaps, control testing, operating procedures, runbooks, and handover to client teams.
- Travel as required to meet client needs and project demands.
Stakeholder management
- Foster strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor from governance design through build, deployment, and go-live.
- Facilitate workshops with business, technology, data science, risk, legal, and compliance stakeholders to translate obligations into implementable technical and process requirements.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, operable solutions, and partner with engineering and platform teams to deliver them.
Team and People development
- Provide leadership and development of junior resources
- Build an organizational culture that fosters inclusion and innovation.
- Create an environment that fosters professional and career development.
- Develop and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Skills and attributes for success
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Proven ability to take governance programs from assessment and design through implementation and sustainment.
- Strong understanding of Responsible AI, AI governance, and AI risk management principles, and how to translate them into technical controls.
- Hands-on experience implementing controls in AI/ML platforms, data platforms, and GRC tools, not only documenting them.
- Working knowledge of IT general controls, identity and access management, and segregation of duties.
- Experience delivering large-scale, multi-region enterprise transformation and implementation programs.
- Strong analytical skills to develop creative, practical solutions for complex problems.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to bridge executive, risk, and engineering audiences.
- Demonstrated emotional agility and the ability to collaborate in hybrid environments.
Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree and 3-6 years of experience in technology risk, AI/data governance, or technology consulting, including hands-on implementation delivery
- Experience conducting governance maturity and gap assessments and delivering the resulting remediation and control implementations
- Hands-on experience configuring and deploying governance, monitoring, or access controls in cloud, AI/ML, or ERP environments
- Experience implementing ERP security and governance (e.g., Oracle Cloud), including role design, provisioning workflows, and segregation of duties controls
Skillsets:
- AI Governance & Frameworks: Responsible AI policies, control objectives, evidence standards; NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act

- GenAI Guardrails & Safety: Azure AI Content Safety, Amazon Bedrock Guardrails, NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails, prompt injection defenses, PII redaction
- AI Evaluation & Red Teaming: LLM evaluation frameworks, adversarial testing tools (e.g., PyRIT, Garak), groundedness and hallucination testing
- Monitoring & Observability: Model drift and performance monitoring, AI/agent inventory and observability, logging and audit trails (Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Datadog)
- Data Governance & Privacy: Data classification, lineage, and cataloging (Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Unity Catalog); consent and privacy controls
- Identity & Access: Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC/ABAC, privileged access management, Oracle Cloud role design and segregation of duties
- GRC & Control Automation: ServiceNow IRM, Archer, or AuditBoard; automated control testing and evidence collection
- Programming & Data: Python and SQL for control automation, testing, and evidence reporting; Power BI for governance dashboards
- Certification in AIGP and/or CISA (preferred); cloud AI certifications such as Azure AI Engineer or AWS Machine Learning (good to have)
- Professional memberships such as IAPP or ISACA (good to have)
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Specialized skills in AI Governance, Responsible AI, Technology Risk, and Access Governance, with demonstrated experience implementing technical controls.
