Senior Manager – Tax Technology –  Data Science & AI team

The opportunity  

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to lead our Generative AI team's development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solving business problems leveraging AI, Generative AI, and experience in deploying AI applications. Proven thought leadership, product leadership in relevant fields will be a significant advantage      

Your key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Generative AI initiatives within the Tax Technology function, ensuring projects align with strategic business goals.
• Develop and implement innovative AI strategies, incorporating advanced techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), hybrid search, and re-ranking mechanisms.
• Architect, fine-tune, deploy, and maintain large language models (LLMs) and generative AI applications, integrating core technical solutions into end-to-end workflows.
• Establish and enforce robust coding standards and software engineering best practices across AI projects, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of AI projects—from design and development through rigorous testing, deployment, and post-deployment maintenance.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless deployment and integration of AI applications in production environments.
• Independently solve complex technical challenges using hands-on expertise in modern AI techniques, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Present project progress, technical innovations, and strategic insights to top management, clearly communicating the value and impact of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and digital transformation using advanced AI technologies.

Skills and attributes for success

• Extensive experience (7-10 years) in AI and technology-driven environments with a strong focus on generative AI.
• Deep technical proficiency in fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) and hands-on experience with RAG, hybrid search, and re-ranking techniques.
• Strong background in software engineering, including experience in adhering to coding standards, best practices, and effective use of version control systems.
• Proven expertise in end-to-end deployment of AI applications, including the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability as an independent problem solver with a track record of developing original, impactful solutions to complex technical challenges 

• Excellent team leadership and management skills, with experience guiding cross-functional teams through all phases of project development.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior leadership and technical teams.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, adept at translating cutting-edge AI innovations into actionable business strategies.
• Proficiency in agile methodologies, project management, and continuous improvement practices in both software engineering and AI domains.

To qualify for the role you must have 

• B.E./ B.Tech from Top tier Govt. recognized university/Institution   
• Experience of leading AI, Gen AI teams
• Strong communication & presentation skills
• Experience of leading cross-functional techno-functional skills
• Prior exposure to AI model development and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements related to AI and cloud deployments.
• Passion in learning about new technologies in the field of AI, Generative AI
• Experience in using Generative AI assistants for coding

 Ideally you’ll also have

• Flexible to travel and willing to relocate if necessary
• Some thought leadership experience in field of AI, Gen AI
