The Government and public sector transactions services is part of EY's Government & Public Sector (GPS) Services which is a network of highly skilled professionals from assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, devoted to serving the government and public sector organizations and institutions. 

The practice combines private sector leading practice with an understanding of the public sector’s diverse needs, focused on delivering improved public services. Government and public sector transactions services, sits under EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, a market-leading, multi-disciplinary team, working with leading businesses across a range of industries. This practice is in a unique position to deliver implementable strategies given the firm’s sector depth, transaction perspectives, and operational insights. 

The practice provides experience working with various sectors such as, Transport, Social & Health care, Education, Urban & Infrastructure, Economic Development Advisory , Water waste & Sanitation, Power & Utilities and Public Finance & Management.

SaT - TCF - Infrastructure Advisory :

Strategy and Transactions enables clients to reimagine ecosystems, reshape portfolios and reinvent for a better future. Using our Capital Agenda framework, we work with clients to find answers to today’s toughest strategic, financial, operational and commercial questions. We help corporates, private equity, governments, sovereign wealth funds, private and family businesses, and educational institutions with their key financial issues. From portfolio review and capital allocation processes to financial planning analytics and decision support, we have the people, analytics and tools to better allocate capital. Our team helps clients manage their risk/return trade-offs to support them with better decision-making around financing and capital efficiency.

Your key responsibilities

Technical Excellence

• 1. Strategy & Market Analysis: - Conduct sector research on power, utilities, renewables, and energy transition trends - Analyze regulatory frameworks, tariff structures, PPAs, and market dynamics - Support development of strategy papers, investment insights, and business plans for clients - Assist with market entry, growth strategy, and feasibility studies 2. Data Analysis & Reporting - Analyze financial statements, operational data, and industry benchmarks - Prepare client-ready presentations, reports, and investment memorandums - Summarize insights clearly for senior team members and clients 3. Project & Stakeholder Support - Coordinate with internal teams and client to align on task delivery - Manage workstreams in coordination with colleagues - Perform quality checks and ensure adherence to firm methodologies and timelines Technical Skills - Data analytics -Secondary research -Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word -Understanding of renewable energy sources in power sector -Working knowledge of Power & Utilities value chain (generation, transmission, distribution, renewables) Soft Skills -Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple deadlines -Team-oriented mindset with a strong client-service orientation -Willingness to travel and work in dynamic environments -Proficient in analyzing projects with a focus on strategic consulting methodologies. -Experienced in developing project frameworks that optimize client operations and enhance value delivery. -Skilled in stakeholder engagement and management to ensure project alignment with business objectives. -Demonstrated ability to conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for infrastructure initiatives. -Strong technical acumen in utilizing consulting tools and techniques for effective project execution.

To qualify for the role you must have
Qualification

• "Bachelor or Masters degree in engineering/finance/economics/environment/energy/management/business"

Experience

• 0–1 years of relevant experience in transaction advisory, consulting, investment banking, infrastructure advisory, or power & utilities Prior exposure to power, renewables, utilities, or infrastructure projects is an advantage
