Manager - Instructional Designer 

Objective and Purpose of the Assignment

The consultant will be responsible for creating engaging and compelling e-learning course content by applying tested instructional design theories, practice and methods. The e-learning course content will be developed as per the content and needs shared by client for intended audience.

Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for (i) translating technical/ functional training content shared by client into engaging and consumable e-learning content; (ii) Use instructional design techniques and strategies to develop design documents, storyboards, presentations, worksheets, job aids, assessments, scripts, other e-learning material as required; (iii) collaborate and work closely with the client to understand e-learning requirements and objectives, validate e-learning content and make modifications as suggested by the Client; (iv) collaborate with the Visual/ UX Designer, Technical Designer, QA Tester for e-learning production; (v) undertake QA testing such as proofreading materials etc.; (vi) create e-learning supporting materials including but not limited to quick reference guides, handouts, job aids, trainer/learner guides, FAQs, feedback forms, quizzes/ assessments/ tests to evaluate and measure learner knowledge

Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output

  1. Develop learning objectives as per the understanding from the client/SMEs discussions, and ensure the content design is in alignment with these objectives
  2. Perform in-depth analysis of the content and requirements shared by the Client
  3. Use instructional design techniques and strategies to develop design documents, storyboards, presentations, worksheets, job aids, assessments, scripts, and other elearning material as required
  4. Rephrase content as required to meet the e-learning needs; suggest the appropriate elearning methodology – including but not limited to web-based learning, microlearning, video modules, animations, interactive playbooks
  5. Create innovative and engaging e-learning storyboards for the intended audience, after incorporating new-age and leading best practices
  6. Coordinate with the concerned SME/client for e-learning script and content validation; make necessary modifications as suggested
  7. Develop courses using Articulate Storyline, Captivate and other authoring tools
  8. Collaborate with Visual/ UX Designer, Technical Designer, QA Tester for e-learning production as required
  9. Provide QA support where needed, such as proofreading materials for spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency and ensuring the e-learning meets intended objectives
  10. Create all e-learning collaterals and supporting materials, including but not limited to agendas, schedules, quick reference guides, handouts, job aids, trainer/learner guides, FAQs, feedback forms, quizzes/ assessments/ tests to evaluate and measure learner knowledge 
  11. Coordinate and program manage the engagement independently, manage administrative and compliance related tasks and activities

Minimum Qualification Requirements. The consultant should possess:

    • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with 5+ years of experience in Instructional Design or related field 
    • Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate tools and resources used to develop training content (i.e., Articulate Storyline, Captivate, MS Office Suite, Flash, Adobe Suite, SnagIt, LMS and video development)
    • Experience with authoring tools such as Articulate (Storyline, Rise, 360), Captivate, Camtasia, etc. and having worked in an environment following ADDIE and Agile methodologies
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience conducting training needs analysis/ research to identify the specific knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to achieve desired performance levels
    • Experience conducting audience analysis (i.e., targeted audiences, current skills, performance gaps, special needs, prior knowledge and attitudes), and identifying and communicating potential challenges/obstacles to successful business outcomes
    • Experience developing learning objectives based on appropriate analysis and applying principles of adult learning and training best practices to create effective and innovative training design solutions
    • Experience in visualization of content presentation as per the latest and contemporary learning design techniques
