Management Accountant (Senior Consultant)

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

 

  • Prepare and consolidate Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecasts and communicate key drivers and deviations.
  • Perform revenue and margin analysis by product line, identifying trends and opportunities for business optimization.
  • Analyse client segment profitability, providing insights into high-value segments and areas requiring attention or strategic pricing.
  • Prepare and review geographic and regional performance reports, offering comparisons across markets and supporting regional strategy.
  • Support revenue attribution models by broker/producer, enabling transparency and alignment of performance incentives.
  • Support reporting of broker margin and incentive metrics, ensuring alignment with compensation frameworks and business goals.
  • Monitor and report on client retention and acquisition trends, highlighting revenue impact and business development effectiveness
  • Define and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track financial and operational performance across the organization.
  • Support dashboard development and automation using visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to improve reporting efficiency and accessibility
  • Ensure rigorous data validation and governance across reporting processes, collaborating with data owners and technology teams
  • Analyse departmental expenses, monitoring cost centres against budgets and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Support shared service cost allocation models, ensuring fair distribution of central costs across business units and geographies.
  • Track and present efficiency metrics and trends, identifying productivity levers and cost-to-serve benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with global teams to continuously enhance reporting processes, tools, and standardization of metrics.

Functional Competencies:

 

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, management accounting, and cost allocation principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and other reporting/visualization tools; knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Workday) is preferred.
  • Good grasp of performance metrics, variance analysis, and financial modelling techniques.
  • Familiarity with shared service and global operating models
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to create clear, executive-level reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA in Finance, CMA, or other relevant accounting/finance qualification
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in management reporting, FP&A, or financial analysis roles
  • Prior experience in insurance, broking, or financial services industries is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of management reporting frameworks, cost analysis, and performance measurement
  • Experience working in a Global Capability Centre
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver under tight deadlines
