Position Title: Financial Controller Oversight (Senior Manager)
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Governance & Oversight of end-to-end finance operations executed from the India unit, ensuring service quality and compliance with global policies.
- Act as the local finance leader for India unit, representing finance in strategic and operational reviews and working closely with business and function heads
- Monitor service delivery across finance verticals (e.g., Financial Reporting, FP&A, Management Reporting, Accounts Payable, Finance Systems) ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
- Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities with group finance teams and lead reconciliation and reporting processes
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the India entity, ensuring cost transparency and financial discipline
- Manage local accounting, statutory audit, and compliance filings in collaboration with tax and legal teams
- Ensure internal controls, risk management, and SOX or equivalent compliance frameworks are implemented and adhered to across finance processes
- Liaise with third-party vendors, consultants, and auditors related to finance, payroll, and regulatory services
- Support global initiatives such as finance transformation, systems implementation, and process re-engineering by providing leadership and coordination from the India hub
- Build a high-performing finance team by mentoring, coaching, and upskilling finance professionals within the India unit.
- Partner with HR and India leadership for workforce planning, cost centre governance, and people-related financial metrics.
- Ensure strong MIS and dashboards are available for leadership reviews and decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation of finance processes leveraging tools and analytics.
- Act as change agent to ensure alignment with global policies, culture, and financial best practices.
Functional & Behavioural Competencies required:
Functional Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of financial accounting, controllership, FP&A, and compliance in a shared services or multinational setup
- Knowledge of global finance operations, IFRS/IND AS, Indian regulatory and tax landscape, and corporate governance frameworks.
- Experience working in ERP environments like Sun GL, Proactis, Workday and reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau.
- Strong grasp of internal controls, audit, and compliance frameworks (SOX or equivalent).
- Ability to manage cross-functional and cross-border finance initiatives and relationships

Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CMA or equivalent with strong academic credentials.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in finance controllership, FP&A, or shared services leadership roles.
- Experience working with a multinational company, financial services firm, or global delivery centre is highly desirable
- Proven track record in leading teams, managing audits, compliance, reporting cycles, and financial governance
- Exposure to insurance, broking, or financial services sector is a plus
