Title: Manager – Commodities Markets (FAAS)
The Opportunity
EY’s Commodities Markets practice is a specialised capability within FAAS, supporting clients that trade commodities across gas, power, oil, metals, agriculture, carbon, shipping, and related products. The team supports commodity trading organisations across the end‑to‑end trade lifecycle, helping them respond to regulatory change, enhance operating models, strengthen controls, and enable technology‑driven transformation.
We are looking for a solution‑oriented Manager based in GDS India to support our global engagement teams, working closely with onshore leadership and clients to deliver high‑quality advisory outcomes for complex commodities trading environments.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Engagement Support
- Support the delivery of FAAS Commodities Markets engagements across business transformation, regulatory compliance, controls and risk governance, and technology enablement
- Apply commodities‑specific knowledge across front‑, middle‑ and back‑office processes within the trade lifecycle
- Contribute to engagement planning, execution, documentation, and reporting in line with EY quality standards
Quality & Execution
- Deliver work products in line with EY methodologies, timelines, and budgets
- Support quality reviews through robust documentation of processes, controls, risks, and business requirements
- Proactively identify execution risks or dependencies and escalate appropriately
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and coach junior team members within GDS, allocating work and reviewing outputs
- Collaborate effectively with onshore FAAS and Commodities Markets leadership across geographies
- Act as a dependable point of contact for day‑to‑day engagement queries
Knowledge & Capability Building
- Build and maintain strong understanding of commodities markets, trading structures, and regulatory developments
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, templates, and playbooks for Commodities Markets engagements
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and propose pragmatic, well‑structured solutions
- Ability to work across process, risk, controls, and systems in complex trading environments

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, IT, or equivalent experience
- Relevant professional experience at Manager level in one or more of the following:
- Commodity trading organisation (front, middle, or back office)
- Professional services (audit, advisory, consulting, technology, or managed services)
- Banking, financial services, or industry body supporting trading activities
- Practical exposure to physical commodities trading and understanding of how commodity markets operate
- Experience in process design, controls, regulatory, systems, or reporting within trading or risk environments
- Demonstrated people and work‑stream management experience
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
- Exposure to physical and/or financial commodity transactions, including risk management or hedging concepts
- Experience with Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM/ETRM) systems such as OpenLink, Allegro, Aspect, EOS, or similar
- Experience performing risk and controls reviews across the end‑to‑end commodities trading lifecycle (front, middle, and back office), including support to activities such as process walkthroughs, control design and effectiveness assessments, and issue remediation.
- Involvement in system implementations, solution design, or data/reporting initiatives
- Experience producing business requirements, process maps, control documentation, and management reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for global stakeholder interaction
