The opportunity : Director - Consulting Risk - Investment Data Operations - FS - Mumbai
Financial Services Risk - helps clients in the financial sector to identify, manage and monitor the risks in their business. It is done through a transformative and agile approach including process and procedures, risk, data modeling and analytics, reporting to stakeholders and third parties, business requirements (for software selection and IT implementation), analysis of assets and liabilities, and capital and liquidity management.
Your key responsibilities
Technical Excellence
To focus on ensuring accurate and timely data across the full investment lifecycle. From client and fund data to deal, investment, and asset-level information, the team works to maintain a comprehensive and high-quality data foundation that fuels everything from day-to-day operations to portfolio reporting and strategic oversight.
- To operate as one integrated unit, combining expertise across:

- Transaction management – approving of all calls, distributions and valuation transactions on eFront.
- Tansaction control – Reconciliation with admins and daily quality checks to ensure data accuracy.
- Capture of underlying portfolio company data onto eFront.
- Own and lead the Investment Data Operations team in Mumbai, ensuring data, controls, systems, and analytics quietly work perfectly behind every investment and investor decision.
- Set the playbook for how the India team runs — defining priorities, capacity, governance, and delivery standards aligned with global expectations.
- Be in the detail. Develop a mechanism to be aware of the critical issues in daily processes and engage with the correct stakeholders to devise strategy to tackle such issues.
- Be the go-to escalation point for complex, critical or time-sensitive issues.
- Partner seamlessly with Front Office, Portfolio Management, Investor Relations, Finance, Technology, and Change teams to turn good data into confident decisions.
- Guard the end-to-end integrity of investment and portfolio data, from ingestion to reporting.
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing India-based team, creating clear growth paths while raising the bar on ownership and accountability.
- Continuously simplify, automate, and scale operations — less manual work, stronger controls, and processes that can keep up with growth.
- Partner with third-party administrators and service providers, upholding accountability while improving service quality and operating models.
- Oversee investment and investor analytics, ensuring insights used in committees, portfolio reviews, and client conversations are sharp, reliable, and easy to trust.
Skills and attributes
To qualify for the role you must have
Qualification
- 10+ years’ experience in private markets, with strong expertise in Fund of Funds private equity (equity, infrastructure, private debt)
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience using data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Experienced financial professional with strong data analysis, management, and control-focused mindset, delivering accurate results under tight deadlines
- Strong communicator with proven ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate independently and across teams
- Proven people manager with experience leading, coaching teams, and conducting performance and career development discussions
- Related academic qualification, e.g. CFA, CA, MBA – Finance
- Experience in data manipulation & visualization tooling (VBA, Python, PowerBI, etc.). Preferred
