The opportunity


As a Tax Manager you will be a part of U.S. Corporate Tax Practice.  We help our clients identify and solve complex U.S. and international tax issues and assist them in pursuing a successfully aligning all of the different areas of taxation into a benefit-driven strategy. Your key responsibilities


A Tax Manager in U.S. Corporate Tax will drive multiple and challenging tax engagements as part of a team delivering high quality compliance services and innovative tax planning ideas for our clients.


Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Demonstrating an understanding of U.S. tax concepts as they relate to U.S. Corporate and Partnership federal and state income tax compliance, including U.S. income tax provision review and preparation;
  • Preparation and review of U.S. corporate and partnership tax returns for multinational clients and U.S. income tax provisions for both public and private companies;
  • Conducting federal and state tax research, thoroughly analyzing U.S. cross-border tax issues and drafting technical memos related to specific client matters;
  • Interacting with U.S. firm’s specialized tax teams on complex tax matters, and vetting state filing positions with U.S. firm’s state tax desks;
  • Interacting with the federal and state tax authorities to assist clients in resolving tax audits, notices and issues;
  • Providing excellent client service while managing engagement economics, tax life cycle and assuring quality;
  • Continuously coaching, developing and supervising team members;
  • Communicating effectively with clients and EY team members;
  • Pursuing and sharing knowledge to develop professionally and enhance service delivery. 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in US Corporate tax;
  • Completed a US CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent;
  • Strong project management, analytical and organizational skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. This role will interact with national and global clients, as such business level proficiency in English is required. Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
