Your key responsibilities

 

Your role as a Senior Tax Staff will give you the opportunity to combine corporate tax engagements with structured and virtual learning. You’ll get experience in tax compliance, tax accrual review, calculating income tax provision and tax planning. Our people focus on the main issues affecting our clients, paying particular attention to the implementation of tax strategies aligned with their business objectives.
 
Skills and attributes for success

  • The ability to contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services and work products. 
  • A demonstrated understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. 
  • The ability to discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management. 
  • A desire to stay informed of current tax developments, effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations and thoroughly, accurately analyze information. 
  • Critical thinking skills that enable you to prepare practical and effective approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. 
  • Experience preparing corporate tax returns. auditing tax provisions and sharing tax planning ideas 
  • A keen interest in working collaboratively and contributing to achieving team goals. 

 

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • A CPA / Accounting designation or Masters’ degree.
  • 3 or more years’ relevant Canadian Corporate tax experience, including broad exposure to corporate income taxation.
  • The ability to research and write utilizing electronic tax tools.
  • Excellent managerial and organizational abilities along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A high level of drive, a strong team orientation, a mature, committed and proactive approach to work.
