The opportunity


You’ll join our in-house National Design studio in EY Canada’s Creative Services Group, helping support the important business enablement functions that keep our organization running strong. As a CBS professional, you will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources and tools that help EY deliver exceptional quality service to our clients, win in the marketplace and support EY’s growth and profitability. 

We are seeking a creative who is early in their career and interested in a growth opportunity by joining a diverse team of creatives to learn and develop.

 

Your key responsibilities


As a Graphic Designer, you will assist various groups, teams and internal stakeholders with design needs to conceptualize shared ideas used in the development of digital and print projects. As a driven and passionate creative professional, you enjoy working in tandem with your colleagues while striving to understand and anticipate customers’ needs to exceed expectations.

 

Your key responsibilities also include: 

  • Understand, and using, EY brand standards, develop leading-edge designs and innovative ideas for print and digital client deliverables
  • Effectively create layouts with strong typography, and image selection (supporting design theme/message) and appropriate use of colour, images and fonts, draw and redraw images/graphics, allowing for readability of type and effective communication
  • Working with internal clients: Brand Marketing and Communications, and Business Development, and other EY Canada teams to assist clients in selecting an effective design and deliverable solutions
  • Participating in project meetings and positive discussions relating to appropriate graphics methods/techniques to meet project requirements
  • Effectively create interactive presentations using a variety of software tools (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, etc..)
  • Understanding of proper set-up and use of master pages and style sheets, standard electronic file management/archiving and troubleshooting
  • Understanding, implementing, and strictly adhering to the quality standards and procedures established by the team
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Capable of managing files for print/digital delivery including preparing technical layout requirements (setting up layers, margins, bleed, style sheets), resizing and cropping images as needed
  • Capabilities for troubleshooting technical issues for digital deliveries– images/graphic linking, file size management, platform solutions
  • Capable of working with external vendors regarding the coordination of production for external products and services
  • Overtime required as needed

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Demonstrates flexibility to work with multiple projects/internal clients simultaneously
  • A desire and willingness to learn, take on new projects and challenges to continue developing as a graphic designer.
  • Actively collaborate/support Sr. Designer/Creative Director and seek feedback on various projects
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Word and hands-on experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and good to have interactivity and animation
  • Committed to contributing to a strong team culture to ensure success
  • Develop and maintain relationships to efficiently leverage expertise. Sound judgement regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  • Proven ability to meet multiple and/or unexpected deadlines in a demanding environment
  • Aptitude to differentiate when to act independently or team with others
  • Creative thinking with attention to detail
  • Good command over design techniques and visual elements


To qualify for the role, you must have

  • College diploma, technical certificate or foundational courses in graphic design
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience in an internship or entry-level graphic design role


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Professional services firm experience
  • Capability to communicate in both English and French
