The Opportunity

 

As a Senior Manager, Delivery Lead within our Banking Technology practice, you will lead the delivery of large-scale technology transformation programs for leading financial institutions, with a focus on Commercial Banking. You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, oversee complex technology initiatives, and drive successful outcomes across architecture, delivery, and business transformation. This role combines strategic leadership, program delivery, client advisory services, and business development responsibilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

 

Delivery Leadership & Program Execution

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large and complex technology transformation programs within Commercial Banking, ensuring alignment with business objectives, architecture strategy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee multiple workstreams, delivery teams, vendors, and stakeholders across large-scale initiatives.
  • Drive execution of programs involving commercial lending platforms, loan origination systems, treasury and cash management solutions, payments modernization, digital banking platforms, core banking transformation, cloud migration, system integration, and data modernization.
  • Establish delivery governance, operating models, KPIs, and executive reporting frameworks.
  • Manage scope, budgets, financial performance, timelines, dependencies, risks, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure consistent delivery quality and successful realization of business outcomes.

 

Commercial Banking Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Provide leadership and oversight on solution architecture, technology roadmaps, and transformation strategies.
  • Ensure technology solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Guide architecture governance, design reviews, and technology decision-making processes.
  • Support clients in defining target-state architectures and multi-year transformation roadmaps.
  • Advise on modernization opportunities leveraging cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, AI-enabled solutions, and data ecosystems.

 

Executive Client Advisory & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive-level stakeholders across business and technology functions.
  • Lead strategic discussions with Commercial Banking leaders to align technology investments with business priorities.
  • Facilitate executive workshops, steering committees, solution reviews, and transformation planning sessions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand EY services.
  • Communicate program status, risks, recommendations, and strategic insights to senior leadership.

 

Business Development & Practice Growth

  • Lead proposal development, RFP responses, pursuit activities, and client presentations.
  • Drive solutioning efforts for new opportunities within Commercial Banking Technology.
  • Contribute to the growth of EY's Banking Technology practice through thought leadership and market insights.
  • Identify emerging trends, innovation opportunities, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong market relationships across banking clients and technology partners.

 

People Leadership & Coaching

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across delivery, architecture, and consulting functions.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
  • Provide coaching and career development support to managers, consultants, and delivery teams.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, capability building, and workforce planning activities.
  • Champion knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the practice.

 

AI-Enabled Leadership & Delivery Excellence

  • Apply AI in the flow of work with strong professional judgment, integrating AI into day-to-day delivery activities while validating outputs, challenging assumptions, and maintaining accountability for quality and business outcomes.
  • Lead the responsible and risk-aware use of AI by demonstrating sound judgment regarding data usage, confidentiality, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations, while promoting best practices and escalating risks appropriately.
  • Drive structured and creative problem solving using AI to accelerate analysis, scenario modeling, decision support, and insight generation while ensuring recommendations remain aligned with business priorities and client objectives.
  • Build and scale repeatable AI-enabled ways of working by developing, documenting, and sharing prompts, methodologies, accelerators, and tool usage practices that improve productivity, consistency, and delivery quality across teams.
  • Identify opportunities to embed AI capabilities into commercial banking transformation programs, improving operational efficiency, decision-making, customer experience, and technology delivery outcomes.

 

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale technology transformation programs within banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of Commercial Banking products, processes, and operating models,
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and technology strategy.
  • Proven ability to manage executive stakeholders and complex delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated business development and client relationship management experience.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence business and technology leaders while driving organizational change.

 

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience delivering projects through strategy, design, build, test, and delivery.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in consulting, ideally in financial services and banking.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams, including software vendors and sub-contractors, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
