The opportunity

At EY Strategy and Transactions (SaT), our team specializes in providing strategic advice and support across the transaction cycle, enabling our clients to make informed decisions for their businesses. We offer comprehensive services in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, private and public offerings, valuations, business modeling, due diligence, and financial consulting. We work closely with private equity firms and corporate clients throughout the entire transaction process, and swiftly execute value creation initiatives.

Within our SaT team, Transaction Diligence is an integrated approach that enhances collaboration among our sub-service lines and competencies, enabling us to work more effectively. While financial due diligence is a key component of our TD service, we go beyond that by providing comprehensive transaction support in order to advise our clients in making well-founded strategic decisions and achieving successful outcomes for their transactions.

Your key responsibilities

Performing financial due diligence procedures relating to the sale and purchase of companies and businesses together with your project team:

-             Analyzing key balance sheet components and valuation issues, for example, identifying areas of risk in regard to potential material overstatement of assets and / or material understatement of liabilities.

-             Analysing the historical results including revenue, EBITDA, net profit and main KPIs of the business.

-             Applying state-of-the-art analytical tools to support the structuring, implementation and delivery of complex financial analyses on opportunities and risks of transactions, challenging assumptions about future performance

Within our integrated organization you collaborate in cross-border, interdisciplinary teams on global transactions and coordinate with external advisors and investors to deliver an integrated service to our clients.

To qualify for the role you must have

• University degree, Bachelor or Master, in Accounting, Finance, Engineering/IT or another subject (with expertise in data and finance basis).
• Experience in Audit, Financial Advisory Services, Finance related role in a corporate, Banking or similar.
• Fluency in Italian language and professional English are required.
• At least 2 years of professional experience. 

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience in professional services.
• A Chartered Accountant / CFA or equivalent qualification.
• Expertise in data & analytics, ideally knowledge of analytical tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI as well as a high level of Microsoft office skills especially Excel.
• Experience with visualization tools (eg Power BI), cloud/ database solutions (eg MS Azure, SQL).
