The opportunity

The Product Manager role is foundational to delivering products beginning with an experience-led vision that executes on a client's objectives through to deploying iterative customer facing releases.

Your key responsibilities

As a Digital Product Manager (Senior Consultant), you'll work across a dynamic mix of projects helping our clients with some of their most pressing issues within all our sectors including healthcare, consumer products and retail, automotive, technology, and more. Working in diverse, inclusive teams to build and manage relationships with our clients, you will intersect product strategy with agile product management to deliver the next generation of digital solutions. You will act as an advocate in the strategic design process of projects, helping with the overall customer experience/digital strategy, transformation and execution. You will be asked to serve as main contact on client deliverables, including digital platforms, customer personas, journey maps, technology enablement, roadmaps, and product backlogs.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Customer-centric approach to digital product development and its application to the product development life cycle
  • Exposure to experience design thinking techniques to solve complex business problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to understand client needs and manage strategic priorities accordingly
  • Ability to think critically to take a digital product from "concept to market", supporting the strategy, roadmap, and agile execution plan to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to foster an inclusive team-oriented work environment, taking an active role in mentoring junior consultants
  • Outcome-oriented mindset to approaching digital strategy development, leveraging skillsets such as market and user research, requirements gathering, business case development, KPI management, and business architecture definition
  • Ability to create and identify innovative opportunities by asking the right questions to help our clients transform their digital business and ways of working
  • Excitement to take complex problems impacting multiple teams and influence needed cooperation to deliver a solution 
  • Ability to utilize agile management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally) and advocate for client user needs
  • Knowledge on best practices for change management surrounding product communications, training, cutover, and marketing campaigns


To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of work experience in Digital Strategy, Customer or User Experience Strategy/Research, Digital Product Design, Digital Product Management, or Agile Scrum Master
  • Familiarity with agile digital product delivery approach, terminology, governance, and ways of working
  • Experience as a digital product business analyst, product manager, product owner, or product marketing manager
  • A valid passport and US driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel estimated 25-50% (project dependent and on as needed basis) domestically, once EY and client offices re-open

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Previous client-facing experience in strategy consulting or Digital Product Management in a Fortune 500 firm. We will also consider digital creative agency experience
  • Past success working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to evolving user needs and managing multiple initiatives
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience or other agile development methodologies
  • Understanding of buyers' behavior and patterns on retail technology platforms
  • Proven success delivering omni-channel and customer experience strategy projects
