EY-DET – Python Back-end developer – Technology Consulting 

As part of our GDS Consulting team, you will be part of GDS Technology Consulting team delivering to clients across regions. The client base spans across various sectors and includes collaboration with other teams within Consulting services.

The opportunity

We’re looking for resources with expertise in Digital Emerging Technologies to join the group of our Merck Technology team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of our service offering.

Your key responsibilities

•    Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
•    Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code
•    Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
•    Drive the project to achieve the milestone
•    Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
•    Understand existing application architecture and solution design
•    Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, programming patterns, and solving complex problems
•    Experience with working with Agile methodology and scrums, and stand ups
•    Demonstrated history of excellent troubleshooting, analytical. and problem-solving skills 
•    Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, high quality systems and software products
•    Strong written & oral communication skills 
•    Review code and establish best practices

Skills and attributes 

•    4+ years of Experience in Python
o    Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
o    Experience programming in Python, shell scripts, special attention to Python 3 and above experience
o    The best candidate should have knowledge on the difference (pros/cons) between Python 3.9 and above versions
o    Experience developing software tools, utilities, and libraries/components
o    Rest APIs, Fast API
o    Flask, Django.
o    Nice to have Knowledge on AWS, Azure
•    Good experience in database designing, writing complex SQL queries and performance tuning 
•    Nice to have experience in DevOps Pipeline creations.

To qualify for the role, you must have

•    A bachelor's or master's degree 
•    A minimum of 4+ years of experience as Python developer. 
•    Excellent communication skills with presentation experience preferred

Ideally, you’ll also have

1.    Ability to drive the project and prioritize tasks into manageable work products.
2.    Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
