DevOps Senior - EY Global Delivery Services

The opportunity
•    We’re looking for an DevOps Engineer with 3.5  to 7 years of experience who can:

You will be tasked with implementing, managing, and troubleshooting DevOps processes and tools, ensuring their optimal performance and harmony with business requirements.
You will be responsible for promptly identifying and resolving DevOps related issues, delivering timely and effective solutions.
Your key responsibilities
•    Assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines under the guidance of a senior team member.
•    Collaborating with development and operations teams to understand their requirements for infrastructure and tooling.
•    Helping with the automation and streamlining of operations and processes.
•    Assisting in developing tools, solutions, and microservices to improve deployment and operational efficiency.
•    Assisting with cloud resource provisioning, operation, and management.
•    Participating in release and deployment plans under supervision.
•    Ensuring system compliance with security standards and policies under the direction of a senior team member.
•    Assisting with system monitoring and identifying system performance trends or potential issues.
•    Contributing to cloud resources management and migration strategies.
•    Assisting in the implementation of disaster recovery plans and system check-ups.
•    Participating in learning and development programs to improve their DevOps knowledge and skills.
•    Contributing to infrastructure maintenance and system hardening.
•    Escalating critical issues to senior team members promptly

Skills and attributes for success
•    Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
•    Ability to travel in accordance with client and other job requirements
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills; writing, publishing and conference-level presentation skills a plus.
To qualify for the role, you must have
•    Degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science
•    AWS/Azure/Google DevOps engineer.

Ideally, you’ll also have
Docker Certificate, Terraform Associate.

Technologies and Tools 
•    Linux: As it is widely used in server environments, understanding Linux and commands at a basic level is crucial.
•    Version Control Systems like Git: It's an important tool in tracking changes in code files. Git is currently the most popular system.
•    Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools: Jenkins, Bamboo, and TeamCity are frequently used for automating the stages of app lifecycle.
•    Containerization technologies like Docker: They allow packaging an application with its runtime dependencies and help to ensure consistency across multiple environments.
•    Orchestration Tools like Kubernetes: These are used to manage containers at scale.
•    Configuration Management Tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet: These are necessary for automating the configuration, management, and deployment of software.
•    Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Tools: Understanding software like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible will be useful.
•    Cloud Services: Having knowledge about a cloud service like AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
•    Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of tools like Nagios, New Relic, or Datadog can provide insights about systems and applications.
•    Scripting Languages: Having programming skills especially in languages like Python, Ruby, Go, Shell can be handy in coding and automation.

What we look for 
•    Monitoring and alerting: Closely monitor for anomalies and threats.
•    Incident and Problem Triage: Assessment of defects to identify and map to the right queue (Platform / Info security / Application / Infrastructure)
•    Incident Management: Monitor the Service management queue, ensure incidents are being updated and the customers are being communicated to.
•    Change and Release Management: Co-ordination of release management, including managing agreed components of Runsheet’s and change control documentation
•    Patch management, Problem Management: Root cause analysis to identify underlying issues
•    System and Security Maintenance: Perform system and security level maintenance activities.
•    Documentation: All root-cause findings from incident or problem managed need to be documented as a repeatable process for future support.
