Strategic Communications Leader – Financial Services
The opportunity
As our Strategic Communications Leader – Financial Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and elevating EY’s Financial Services narrative across Oceania. Partnering closely with senior Financial Services leaders and global communications colleagues, you’ll design and deliver high‑impact internal and external communications that strengthen engagement, enhance leadership visibility, and reinforce EY’s purpose and brand in the market.
This is a hybrid role and can be based in Meanjin – Brisbane, Warrang – Sydney, Naarm – Melbourne, Canberra – Ngambri, or any EY office across Australia. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours — please speak with us about what might work for you.
Your key responsibilities
- Shape and deliver a clear, cohesive Financial Services communications strategy aligned to Oceania and global priorities
- Act as a trusted adviser to senior Financial Services leaders, translating complex business priorities into compelling, audience‑focused communications
- Lead high‑profile, time‑critical communications including leadership messaging, major announcements, and crisis or issues management
Skills and attributes for success
Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below — but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- Significant experience in strategic communications, corporate affairs or a similar role, ideally within Financial Services or Professional Services
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear, human‑centred messages
- Proven experience advising senior leaders and managing sensitive or high‑visibility communications in a matrixed environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to collaborate across regions, sectors and global teams
