Our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Practice partners with C-Suite Executives such as Deputy Director Generals, Senior Executives, Chief Finance Officers, Chief Information Officers and their teams to create long-term value, trust and confidence within their organisations. Combining commercial experience, deep sector and regulatory knowledge, together with expertise in finance, economics, financial and management accounting, and finance function efficiency and effectiveness, our Senior Managers drive outcomes related to resource allocation, financial sustainability and efficiency, financial reporting, finance process improvement, strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness, budgeting, costing, major transactions and financial due diligence both domestically and internationally. Our aim is to have an engaged, highly capable, healthy team, performing meaningful work in a sustainable practice.
We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our Government sector team, based in Melbourne. Our roles can be adjusted to work flexibly with the potential of reduced hours to balance your time between the home and office. Please speak with us about potential options.
We’re interested in leaders with a genuine creative vision and the confidence to make it happen. You can expect plenty of autonomy in this role, so you’ll also need the ability to take initiative and seek out opportunities to improve our current relationships and processes. If you’re serious about finance advisory and ready to take on some of our clients’ most complex issues, this role is for you.
Working directly with a wide range of clients across various sectors, our Senior Managers are responsible for:
- Participating in overall practice strategy development and leading strategy execution.
- Leading the planning, management and delivery of various engagements including 1,000+ hour projects.
- Proactively managing all aspects of the project including approach, stakeholder management, commercial engagement outcomes, resourcing, and risk management.
- Establishing high performing teams and coaching and mentoring team members.
- Preparing and delivering proposals and realising business development plans through strong professional networks.
- Understanding the client’s industry sector and recognise key performance drivers, business trends, and new technical and industry developments.
- Ensuring deliverables are high quality and tailored to client needs.
- Contributing to the development of professional literature and thought leadership that addresses contemporary accounting and finance matters.
What we’re looking for

- 7 – 15 years’ relevant experience.
- A degree in business and/or other appropriate academic major.
- CA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Australian security clearance, or ability to obtain one – please note, Australian citizenship is required to obtain an Australian Government security clearance. If you’ve maintained a security clearance in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom or New Zealand, the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency may also assess your case for a transfer of this clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proven ability to identify, develop and capture business opportunities.
- Excellent leadership and project management skills with a proven ability to execute under pressure.
- A strong ability to assemble and lead diverse teams in an inclusive manner.
- Experience in Government budget and financial management principles and requirements.
- A desire to build your digital skills.
