As a Senior Consultant in our Mergers & Acquisitions team based in our Melbourne office, you’ll join a high performing team that provides strategic and tactical advice to privately owned, publicly listed, and private equity clients through all stages of the sale or purchase of a business or asset.
M&A is part of EY’s Parthenon service line providing lead advisory services. This role is offered on a full-time basis.
Your key responsibilities
· Be involved in all stages of the transaction process from deal origination through to completion, including preparation of marketing materials, buyer research, valuation analysis, and due diligence preparation and coordination.
· Prepare industry research and market mapping to assist in identifying potential new clients or targets for private equity and corporate buyers.
· Assist in building financial data books and analysing financial models.
· Contribute to engagement planning and project management ensure that deliverables meet the project timetable.
· Build strong client relationships and engage with transaction stakeholders and advisers.
Skills and attributes for success
· Two to five years’ full time work experience.
· Prior transaction experience (due diligence or M&A) would be beneficial, or otherwise demonstrating transferrable skills
· Bachelor level academic qualification(s) in accounting, commerce, finance or law.
Other backgrounds will also be considered. The team and EY is supportive of the successful candidate undertaking post graduate education, including the CA or applied finance programs.
· Strong numeracy, and written and verbal communication skills.
· A positive attitude, curiosity to learn and desire to contribute to a highly motivated team.
· Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
· The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
