You will both lead and contribute to an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment. In this role you will serve as a member of and manage multiple client engagement teams to innovate and develop new solutions to be delivered to clients.

Your key responsibilities 

As our Senior Consultant - Transaction Analytics, you’ll:

  • analyse large and complex datasets and build sophisticated data driven analysis to help address our client’s challenges in fast-changing markets and present your findings in a way that’s easily understood by transaction professionals
  • construct purpose-built databases storing large client datasets for our analytical solutions, leveraging data wrangling and visualisation tools, SQL stored procedures, programming and statistical tools, to derive insights in a fast-moving transaction environment.
  • stay abreast of current business, economic and technology developments relevant to clients’ business and communicate the impact of emerging technologies to clients
  • identify technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods
  • provide advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrades
  • project manage throughout the lifecycle of a transaction, including defining requirements for data collection, solution design, development, documentation, implementation and user training
  • produce financial and/or market intelligence by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports
  • devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources.
  • use data to solve complex challenges and constantly research industry trends and technologies. Understanding EY's service lines and actively present ways the firm can successfully serve clients.

What we’re looking for

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

  • an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, finance, economics or business, data analytics or data programming, with a demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis and approximately 1 to 3 years of related work experience
  • designing and building complex database models to perform analysis on large diverse datasets
  • excellent financial, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • an ability to work with high performing technical individuals, including data scientists, database administrators and data analysts
  • an innovative mindset coupled with strong work initiative and the ability to be agile from day to day and adapt to new challenges and ideas
  • Familiar with, analytics tools / applications including:
    • Data management and modelling (SQL, Alteryx, etc.)
    • Data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI, Spotfire, etc.)
    • Analytics platforms (SAS, Azure, etc.)
    • Programming languages (Python, R, etc.)

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • a desire to work in the fast-paced mergers and acquisition-oriented environment
  • an ability to draw from previous consulting experience with high business acumen in an environment that focuses on continuous evolvement
