Senior Consultant – Financial Services Tax

With continued growth in our Financial Services practice, EY is an exciting place to build your career and make a real impact in the financial services industry. We are seeking a high-performing Senior Consultant to join our collaborative Financial Services Tax team in Melbourne. 

 

Our team brings diverse perspectives and backgrounds, creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment that fosters growth and innovation. You will work with leading financial services clients across banking, wealth and asset management, insurance and superannuation sectors, supporting the delivery of high-quality tax services. 

 

As part of our national team, you will collaborate with colleagues across Australia, contributing to client engagements while developing your technical capability and consulting skills. This role is ideal for individuals looking to strengthen their expertise and progress toward management. 

 

 

 

Your key responsibilities 

 

In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of client engagements while continuing to build your technical expertise and professional capability. 

 

  • Support the delivery of Australian income tax advisory and compliance services to clients across banking, wealth, asset management, superannuation and insurance sectors 

  • Assist in preparing tax advice, provisions and compliance deliverables for a range of financial services clients 

  • Build effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, contributing to a high-quality client experience 

  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing initiatives 

 

 

 

Skills and attributes for success 

 

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical capability, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset, along with a desire to develop your career in a fast-paced environment. 

 

  • Experience in financial services tax, corporate tax or funds tax, ideally gained in professional services or industry 

  • Solid understanding of Australian tax compliance and advisory principles, with strong analytical skills 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders 

  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to manage competing priorities 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have: 

 

  • Progress towards or completion of a CA or equivalent qualification 

  • Experience supporting multiple client engagements and delivering quality outcomes
