Resource Manager - Assurance Advisory
The Opportunity
As an experienced Resource Manager, you have the exciting opportunity to create an environment that empowers employees to engage in experiences that enhance their professional lives and career trajectories. Your role as a workforce planning and resource management expert is central to activating day-to-day operations that drive business performance and fulfil our commitment to nurturing talent. You achieve this by strategically placing the right people in the right roles at the right time. This includes assisting with project demand prioritisation and augmenting supply, while balancing commercial needs to ensure business success. Additionally, you will provide insights into workforce planning, skills, capabilities, and trends.
You will be part of a fast-growing area of our Assurance practice, primarily focused on providing a wide range of advisory services to our clients. This role is based in Naarm-Melbourne or Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities:
- Partner with our business leaders and stakeholders to build and manage key relationships across accounts/sectors/talent pools to develop and direct a resource management agenda.
- Collaborate closely with Talent and Recruitment teams on updates and movements in available talent pool.
- Evaluate current and future resource needs, and develop a timely plan, challenging past resourcing models as needed. This requires understanding project backgrounds and the necessary skills.
- Allocate and manage people bench across open roles on projects with the right skills and expertise.
- Manage cross team and multi-disciplinary talent pools, available capacity, understand capabilities and proactively identify opportunities for available people across Australia, New Zealand and GDS.
- Ensure seamless connectivity between pursuit teams and our available talent.
- Provide timely and accurate insights into long term resource requirements based on recent and forecast trends.
- Understand and support, where feasible, service areas team members have identified they would like to be considered being resourced on engagement, to support the ongoing development of their skills and capabilities.
- Drive behaviour change using data insights, and foster agile and continuous improvement.
- Ensure a reliable and accurate business forecast as input into key business decisions on supply and demand.
- Provide accurate and regular reporting regarding talent pool availability, current and utilisation forecast to stakeholders with relevant/ meaningful insights.
- Act as an escalation point for other resourcing conflicts or challenges and assist with providing or managing solutions with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee the wider Assurance Advisory resourcing team and provide ongoing coaching and development support.
- Lean in to support Assurance Advisory resourcing team members for periods of absence or where there’s identified an acute increased demand on resourcing need.
Skill and attributes for success
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within operations management, workforce planning or resource management.
- Ability to provide strategic insights and manage expectations in pursuit of increasing utilisation and employee engagement.
- Exceptional client service with a strong desire to build exceptional, high-performing teams for our business.
- Ability to understand the business, learn the unique skills, needs and goals of our people.
- Attention to detail and data accuracy and the ability to analyse data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Stakeholder engagement across multiple levels in the business.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and identify and support the implementation of solutions, which create efficiencies and enable better ways of working with relation to resourcing needs .
