EY’s Strategy and Transactions (SaT) division offers Corporate, Government and Private Equity clients professional transaction advice and services, from the strategic analysis phase of the transaction lifecycle, through to deal execution, and transaction integration. We are looking for a Financial Modelling Manager or Senior Manager (Associate Driector) to join Decision Support Modelling & Analytics (Modelling) within our Valuation, Modelling & Economics (VME) team in our Melbourne office. This role is offered on a flexible full-time basis.

 

As a senior member of the Modelling team, you’ll play a key role with our clients, providing high quality financial and strategic analysis through the development of financial models in relation to clients’ issues, projects and new strategic initiatives. Throughout all projects, you will leverage your project management and leadership skills, and understanding of corporate finance and/or accounting to provide value-adding insights to support decision making and solve a broad range of commercial issues. 

 

You will be a vital member of the team where you will be working on complex and high-profile local and global business decisions and transactions, across a broad portfolio of clients and industry sectors.

Your key responsibilities:

 

  • Work collaboratively, maintain and develop positive and productive relationships with clients and colleagues across our Strategy and Transactions teams to build and deliver high quality modelling and insights to clients
  • Lead high-performing teams
  • Make use of, and share with others, your extensive modelling capability and experience
  • Plan engagement objectives and strategies that address client needs
  • Demonstrate your commercial focus
  • Manage expectations of service delivery and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed around progress and expected outcomes
  • Focus on business and practice development, as well as developing team members to achieve their goals
     

What we’re looking for

  • Financial Modelling – strong experience building, enhancing and leading others to build complex 3-way and other financial models
  • Sound knowledge of financial and accounting concepts
  • A keen interest in understanding and solving problems
  • A bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related work experience
  • Excellent financial, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate financial, commercial and analytical insights and actions to our clients
