At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

What if your career could have a lasting impact on you, and the World?

Join the Decision Support team in EY’s Strategy and Transactions (SaT) and work with innovative professionals who provide data analytics-driven solutions and insights that enhance our clients’ decision making. You will both drive and contribute to an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment. In this role you will serve as a member of and manage multiple client engagement teams to innovate and develop new solutions to be delivered to clients, as well as support internal technology-focussed initiatives.

What’s in it for you?

As a Data Analytics Manager or Senior Manager in the Sydney or Melbourne office, you’ll play a key role with our government and private sector clients, providing high quality analytical and strategic analysis through the development of data analytics models and AI solutions in relation to our clients' issues, projects and new strategic initiatives. In particular, you will support Generative AI development in SaT applying Large Language Models (LLM) technology to deliver new and faster services for SaT and our clients.

Throughout all projects you will leverage your understanding of quantitative analysis to provide value-adding insights to support decision making and solve a broad range of commercial and financial issues. You would also have the opportunity to build strong working relationships with your clients, understanding their issues, anticipating future opportunities, and developing solutions to meet their needs.

Your primary focus will be providing and leading advanced analytical projects including but not limited to the following solutions:

  • Generative AI and statistical driven projects focused on efficiency and optimisation.
  • Development of reporting and analytical solutions to support our clients with data-driven insights for targeted client requirements.
  • Architecting applications and tools that harness several analytical technologies to support teams involved in transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple technology engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery within project timelines and budgets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Participate in client proposals and presentations to expand the technology practice.
  • You will foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for other team members through task delegation and mentorship.
  • Use and develop Generative AI technologies to improve internal efficiencies and client solutions.
  • Leverage Cloud technologies such as Azure or relevant alternatives for data analytics solutions.
  • Effectively communicate technical modelling results and insights to both technical and non-technical business stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

  • Exceptional leadership, business development, communication and team collaboration skills are essential.

  • Good understanding of AI and Large Language Models, including their business applications and use cases, with a passion for getting into the details of model tuning and development.

  • Experience with Python, R, or SQL for data analysis.

  • Familiarity with data and analytics development using Cloud technology stacks. Microsoft and Azure experience will be highly valued especially using ADF, Databricks, and Power BI.

  • Broader experience in machine learning, data visualisation, geo-spatial tools or operational research tools (including optimisation, simulation and digital twin solutions) is valuable but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer or Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ relevant experience in analytics, modelling, consulting, accounting or government environments.

  • Strong business acumen and a desire to thrive in a fast-paced client, strategy and transactions-oriented environment.

  • A Baseline or above level of Security Clearance, or an ability to obtain a security clearance, is preferable but not mandatory.

What we can offer you

  • A dynamic and collaborative working environment that encourages professional growth.
  • The opportunity to work across multiple sectors and industries, developing specialised expertise.
  • A role that supports continuous learning, development, and career progression in data analytics and consulting.
  • The opportunity to develop and share sector specific expertise in a number of industry sectors aligned with your experience and interests.
