About the team! 

An exciting opportunity to join the dynamic, growing EY Government Incentives team, based in our Melbourne office. Work alongside purpose-driven and committed science, engineering, software, law and commerce professionals that assist our clients access government incentives that are vital for investment, growth and a better working world. Play a key role in client Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive claims, which are jointly administered by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and Department of Industry, Science and Resources (AusIndustry), as a trusted advisor. This will involve preparing and reviewing, R&D project descriptions, R&D expenditure calculations as well as managing all aspects of accounts, R&D Tax Incentive claim processes, from preparation, review and lodgement, providing Government Incentive advisory services to many companies, from start-up to large private and public multi-nationals across diverse industries  

You also can assist clients with identifying and accessing other State and Federal grants and incentives, R&D tax corporate governance, responses to R&D tax audits/reviews undertaken by the regulators of the program, and specialist R&D tax advice.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience with R&D Tax Incentive program  
  • Previous experience at the ATO or AusIndustry or in working with the regulators in audits or reviews of the R&D Tax Incentive 
  • Experience in dealing with technical challenges faced by industry professionals, such as engineering design, the development or improvement of manufacturing processes, development of new products and improvement to existing products<span 201341983="" data-ccp-props="{">.
  • Business acumen and relevant commercial exposure in terms of understanding the marketability of new products and processes<span 201341983="" data-ccp-props="{">.
  • Leadership skills and ambitions, and experience with or ambition to delegate, coach, and mentor junior team members 
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality<span 201341983="" data-ccp-props="{">.
  • A collaborative working style with excellent communication and presentational skills (both oral and written) 
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, innovative, and enthusiastic
