We are looking for Managers or Senior Managers in the unique and fast-growing area of Transaction Analytics that leverages data to derive insights through a commercial lens and has the potential to impact decisions in both buy- and sell-side M&A transactions.

  • Are you a corporate finance professional who jumps at the chance to dive into data and uncover deeper insights into business performance and growth?
  • Are you a qualified accountant at a mid-top tier firm, having picked up some analytics along the way, and keen to break into the world of M&A?
  • Or maybe your background is as a data analyst, yet you feel more comfortable as the storyteller and have a proven ability to support high impact decisions with data (strategic, financial, investment, marketing, etc.)?
  • Do you see analytics playing an important role in the future of your career – yet are more driven by the results than the tech, and/or don’t see yourself as a pure technologist?

What’s in it for you?

As our Senior Manager or Manager – Transaction Analytics,

You’ll join an established team of forward-thinking analytics professionals in blend of a project leadership and project delivery capacity. This role comes with exciting, challenging and demanding client projects. In our downtime, it also providing the chance to innovate in our capability to efficiently generate strategic and commercially relevant insights. Most importantly, on a continual basis, there is the opportunity to grow with the team as you continue to develop in your own career.

What we’re looking for

There are three broad aspects to Transaction Analytics roles and candidates should confidently identify with at least two:

  • Commercial acumen and ability to see the big picture. You’ll have experience in the likes of strategy, management consulting, corporate finance or accounting, and are comfortable contributing through these lenses when explaining the results of your analyses.
  • Quantitative / analytics skills and numerical reasoning. You are adept at both manipulating and interpreting large datasets, your eye for detail will mean you’ve reconciled your results, and you can translate business to technical and vice versa.
  • Client-facing and consultative skills. You are curious and articulate, with clever questions and ability to build rapport; you are comfortable working directly with a partner/exec level audience through to coaching and guiding junior and senior consultants.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Previous experience in M&A, strategy or consulting
  • Further post-graduate studies in a commercially oriented discipline (e.g. CA, CPA, CFA, MBA, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience in having developed strong commercial awareness to analyse business context and performance and understand key business drivers
  • An entrepreneurial track record, to identify client needs and devise commercial propositions in the absence of precedent or guidance

The technologies we use day-in and day-out include Alteryx, Power BI (including advanced DAX), Power Query and Power Pivot. We sometimes dabble with Python, R and SQL and, as we continue to innovate, there may be future opportunities to expand our capabilities in these areas, so long as it fits commercially and strategically. When you join us though, don’t feel like you need to be a proficient at any of these as we provide significant formal and on the job training – we’ll just be looking for evidence that you have what it takes to pick up the tech and hack it out in the long run.
