And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The shifting tax landscape: where others see obstacles, will you see opportunity?

At EY we believe that whoever you are, your uniqueness helps us stand apart.

We bring together extraordinary people, like you, to build a better working world.

What’s in it for you?

Our Financial Services Indirect Tax team is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Indirect Tax specialists in GST who can deliver real-time insights, working directly with clients to shape and enhance business strategies to help them solve tomorrow’s problems today. To the right candidate this position offers excellent opportunities for teaming, leadership, and career advancement.

The world of indirect tax is constantly changing and has been rapidly expanding with new laws, regulations, technologies and regulator expectations. Our Financial Services Indirect Tax team is at the forefront, and this is your opportunity to be part of that development. Work in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where you’ll have the freedom to innovate using various technologies. You will also have the chance to shape and drive your career through our comprehensive development programs to help you be the best version of yourself, both inside and outside of work.

As our Indirect Tax Director, you’ll lead our Indirect Tax teams, deliver real-time insights and work directly with clients to shape and enhance business strategies to help them solve tomorrow’s problems today.

  • Manage a financial services client base and help leading financial services organisations to identify risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities for indirect taxes throughout the tax life cycle.
  • Work with sophisticated technology and data analytics tools to help clients automate compliance processes including data interrogation to identify indirect tax risks and opportunities
  • Have a detailed understanding of the ATO’s Justified Trust approach and ATO expectations under this program. Be highly competent in the understanding and management of both ATO GST SAR’s and CAR’s.
  • Seek out new business using existing networks as well as identifying new opportunities to reduce the indirect tax impost for your existing clients

What we’re looking for

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

  • Substantial indirect tax experience within a professional services accounting firm, law firm or from working with a large financial services organisation.
  • Strong technical tax skills in the field of indirect tax, principally GST.
  • Ability to clearly demonstrate leadership skills in regard to market facing initiatives, client delivery and staff development.

What we can offer you
