Employee Relations Advisor 

 

The opportunity

 

You will be joining the Employee Relations team, a centre of excellence within EY responsible for managing all employment relations matters across Oceania. We are currently recruiting for two positions: one permanent opportunity and one 12-month contract. This role can be performed from any EY office throughout Australia. 

 

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will play a key role in fostering a high-performance culture by partnering with leaders to manage a wide range of employee relations matters, including:

 

  • Probation and performance management
  • Ill-health and fitness for work
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to leaders across the business

 

You’ll be part of a highly collaborative, agile team with deep expertise and a strong commitment to continuous learning. No two days are the same and you’ll be challenged to think creatively, solve complex problems, and embrace a growth mindset.

 

In addition to case work, you’ll contribute to strategic projects aligned with Talent priorities, such as legislative changes and process improvements, helping us shape the future of employee relations at EY.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide consistent, best practice, and commercially sound employee relations advice, balancing the relevant risks 
  • Empower stakeholders by enhancing their employee relations capabilities, boosting the confidence, effectiveness, and accountability of our People Leaders
  • Supporting ER Managers with complex employee relations matters such as restructures and redundancies, investigations, and disciplinary matters
  • Contribute to the delivery of Talent and ER Strategic Priorities and continuous improvement projects by collaborating with the team to identify and complete required projects

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or HR Advisor with experience in employee relations case management 
  • Ability to balance a number of competing priorities whilst maintaining a focus on quality and continuous improvement
  • Ability to influence and partner with business leaders at all levels of the organisation
  • Knowledge of legislative and statutory requirements 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical and effective solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
