At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The opportunity

EY’s Transaction Analytics team continues to grow, and we are looking for high‑performing Senior Consultants to join our growing team!

This role is suited to experienced consultants and senior consultants who understand how transactions work end‑to‑end and are excited by the opportunity to apply data and analytics to real commercial questions across the deal lifecycle. You will work at the intersection of strategy, transactions and analytics, supporting high‑profile buy‑side and sell‑side engagements alongside  Corporate Finance and Transaction Diligence teams.

As a Senior Consultant, you will play a hands‑on role in delivering transaction‑focused analytics, helping investors and management teams identify value drivers, understand risks and make informed decisions at critical moments in a deal. This is an opportunity to deepen your deal exposure while building a differentiated skill set that combines commercial thinking with advanced analytics capability.

This is a full-time hybrid position based in our Melbourne and Sydney office.

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver transaction‑focused analytics across buy‑side and sell‑side engagements, including diligence, sell‑side preparation, carve‑outs and post‑deal value creation, applying analytics to real commercial questions across the deal lifecycle.
  • Analyse large, complex datasets using Alteryx and related tools to identify value drivers, risks, trends and anomalies that matter to investors and management teams in a transaction context.
  • Translate sophisticated analysis into clear, commercially relevant insights for transaction professionals, private equity clients and corporate stakeholders.
  • Work as part of integrated deal teams alongside Corporate Finance and Transaction Diligence, supporting Managers and Senior Managers on delivery, proposals and client discussions

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience in consulting, strategy, deals or transaction‑related roles, with exposure to the transaction lifecycle and a strong understanding of how analytics supports deal decision‑making.
  • Strong analytics capability, including hands‑on experience working with large datasets in tools such as Alteryx, with working knowledge of SQL, Python and/or R highly regarded.
  • A commercial mindset, with the ability to connect data and analysis to strategy, value creation and transaction outcomes rather than purely technical outputs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced, multidisciplinary deal environments

Why EY Transaction Analytics?

EY has been recognised by Mergermarket as the#1 deal advisor by value and volume in Australia and New Zealand for seven consecutive years. As part of Transaction Analytics, you will work on some of the region’s most significant transactions while developing a distinctive analytics‑led deal skillset early in your career.

You will gain exposure to complex, high‑impact deals, learn directly from experienced Managers, Senior Managers and Partners, and build a clear pathway toward future leadership roles within Strategy and Transactions.
