The opportunity
We are looking for a Manager or Senior Manager to join our Decision Modelling and Analytics team during a period of strong growth. In this role, you will lead and deliver advanced data-driven solutions, AI-enabled analytics and decision support solutions that help our clients solve complex business problems and improve operational efficiency. A strong understanding of financial and business fundamentals is important, as many engagements require translating analytical insights into financial outcomes and strategic business decisions.
You will work across a broad range of industries and clients, leveraging data, analytics and AI technologies to drive insights, optimise decision making and unlock value. The role also provides the opportunity to shape our analytics capability, grow client relationships and support business development initiatives.

This hybrid position is based in Naarm – Melbourne.
Your key responsibilities
Client delivery
- Lead and deliver data, analytics and AI-driven solutions to support client decision making across forecasting, risk, operations, pricing, customer and finance-related use cases.
- Design and implement analytics frameworks, predictive models, scenario tools, simulation models and optimisation solutions to solve complex business problems.
- Apply AI technologies and automation to improve efficiency in data processing, analytics and business processes.
- Develop data models, simulation models and scenario analyses that generate actionable insights and measurable business outcomes.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior client stakeholders through clear storytelling and data visualisation.
Technical leadership
- Apply Python and modern analytics tools to develop scalable analytical solutions.
- Work with Azure and/or other major cloud platforms and modern data ecosystems to deploy analytics, data pipelines, dashboards and AI applications.
- Integrate AI and machine learning approaches where appropriate to enhance data capability.
- Ensure technical quality, robustness and governance across data and analytics outputs.
Client and stakeholder engagement
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on analytics, decision support and AI-enabled transformation.
- Collaborate with internal EY teams and stakeholders across strategy, transactions, technology and consulting practices.
- Lead client workshops and discussions to understand business challenges and translate them into practical analytical solutions and delivery roadmaps.
Practice growth
- Identify new opportunities to apply data, analytics and AI capabilities to client problems, including reusable solutions and asset-based offerings.
- Support business development activities including proposals, presentations and thought leadership.
- Contribute to the development of EY’s AI and analytics capability and market presence.
Team leadership
- Mentor and develop junior team members in analytics, modelling and consulting skills.
- Lead project teams, ensuring quality delivery, timeline adherence and strong client outcomes.
- Build a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Skills and attributes for success
A bachelor's degree with around 8 years of relevant work experience, or a master's degree with approximately 7 years of related work experience.
Technical skills
- Strong background in data analytics, applied AI and decision modelling.
- Experience developing forecasting models, scenario analysis, optimisation models, risk models or business decision tools. Exposure to financial modelling, valuation or investment analysis is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modelling and automation.
- Experience working with Azure cloud platform and data services; exposure to Databricks, Synapse, PySpark or other modern cloud analytics environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in business contexts.
- Experience with data visualisation tools and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks or similar is advantageous.
Business and consulting skills
- Strong business acumen and the ability to connect analytics outputs to operational or financial decisions.
- Ability to translate complex data insights into clear business recommendations.
- Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills.
- Experience managing projects and delivering work to tight deadlines.
Leadership and collaboration
- Proven experience in client engagement and relationship management.
- Strong internal stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff and contribute to capability development.
