The Opportunity

Picture this: exploring Australia on a Working Holiday while advancing your career in one of Oceania’s most dynamic Strategy & Transactions teams. At EY, you’ll dive into real-world deals, tackle complex financial challenges, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. This is more than a job — it’s a chance to broaden your horizons, sharpen your skills, and create experiences that will shape your future. If you’re ready to combine adventure with impact, this is your moment.

As a Senior Consultant, Manager or Senior Manager you’ll collaborate with many of the world's leading organisations, high growth companies, and private equity firms on some of the most sophisticated transactions in the global market. Your role will involve uncovering key value drivers, challenging assumptions about future performance, identifying hidden opportunities, and partnering with other EY service teams to deliver a seamless, end-to-end experience for our clients - before, during and after the deal.

What’s in it for you?

  • Hands-on deal experience — Work on high-profile transactions across diverse industries, gaining exposure to complex financial and operational challenges.
  • Expand your global network — Collaborate with leading professionals in Strategy & Transactions and build relationships that span continents.
  • Flexibility and adventure — Combine professional growth with the freedom of a Working Holiday Visa, exploring Australia while advancing your career.
  • Access to EY resources — Benefit from world-class learning platforms, cutting-edge tools, and mentorship to accelerate your development.

You will be considered for suitable opportunities at our EY offices across Sydney and Melbourne.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and participate in financial due diligence engagements related to acquisitions by private‑equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers.
  • Analyse financial and operational results of target businesses by reviewing accounting records and conducting interviews with management.
  • Prepare and/or evaluate pro forma financial information to support investment theses, valuation and deal structuring.

Eligibility, skills and attributes for success

  • Hold a valid working holiday visa for Australia and available for a maximum of six-month contract starting soon.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business, finance or economics
  • Demonstrated experience in financial diligence/transaction diligence and/or M&A, ideally gained in a top-tier consulting firm or second-tier consulting firm.
  • Background in external audit with recent transaction diligence experience.
  • Professional membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (or international equivalent).
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder and interpersonal skills; comfort operating in fast‑paced, deal‑driven environments.
