At EY we believe that whoever you are, your uniqueness helps us stand apart.

We bring together extraordinary people, like you, to build a better working world.

Join Transaction Analytics and you join a team of innovative professionals who provide data analytics-driven solutions that enhance our clients’ decision making during financial due diligence. You will both lead and contribute to an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment. In this role you will serve as a member of and manage multiple client engagement teams to innovate and develop new solutions to be delivered to clients.

What’s in it for you?

As our Director – Transaction Analytics, you will:

  • Analyse large and complex datasets and build sophisticated data driven analyses to help address our client’s challenges in fast-changing markets
  • Present your findings in a way that’s easily understood by transaction professionals
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and training for team members
  • Plan client engagements and review progress against plan and budget
  • Provide direction for work on both client engagements and internal initiatives (e.g. solution innovation) and review team member output and performance
  • Stay abreast of current business, economic and technology developments relevant to clients’ business
  • Innovate and develop new solutions to be delivered to clients
  • Have an understanding of EY's service lines and actively present ways the firm can successfully serve clients
  • Maintain and develop positive and productive relationships with clients

What we’re looking for

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or data analytics, with either significant coursework or approximately 7 to 10 years of related work experience with data analytics
  • Excellent financial, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude to distil complexity, detail and technical concepts and effectively convey key messages to non-technical and executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to manage high performing technical individuals, including data scientists, database administrators and data analysts
  • Innovative mindset coupled with strong work initiative and the ability to be agile from day to day and adapt to new challenges and ideas
  • Desire to work in the fast-paced Transaction Diligence and M&A-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with a broad base of analytics tools / applications including:
    • Data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire, etc.)
    • Data management (SQL, Alteryx, etc.)
    • Analytics platforms (SAS, Azure, etc.)
    • Programming languages (Python, R, etc.)

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A track record of leading in the face of ambiguity, combining curiosity with an entrepreneurial drive, to identify client needs and devise commercial propositions in the absence of precedent or guidance
  • Ability to draw from previous consulting experience with high business acumen in an environment that focuses on continuous evolvement
  • Further post-graduate studies completed or in progress in a commercially oriented discipline such as a CA, CPA, CFA, MBA, etc., or demonstrable experience in having developed strong commercial awareness to analyse business context and performance and understand key business drivers
