Cyber Managed Services – Cyber Defence, Solution & Offering Lead (Oceania)

The opportunity

Cyber Defence Managed Services is undergoing fundamental change.

The rapid advancement of AI, automation, threat intelligence, autonomous operations and evolving client expectations is reshaping how cyber defence services are designed, delivered and consumed. Traditional managed service models are being challenged, and organisations are increasingly seeking outcome-driven, scalable and intelligent cyber operations capabilities.

As part of EY’s Cybersecurity team, you will play a key role in defining what the next generation of Cyber Managed Services looks like.

We are looking for a leader who can own and evolve our Cyber Defence Managed Services offering, collaborate with global and regional teams to bring modern thinking into our portfolio, influence the direction of our capabilities, and act as a trusted market-facing leader to position those offerings with clients, alliances and internal stakeholders.

This position is based in Naarm – Melbourne and Warrang – Sydney.

Your key responsibilities

Cyber Defence Offering Strategy & Evolution

  • Own the strategic direction, evolution and relevance of EY’s Cyber Defence Managed Services offering across Oceania.
  • Continuously assess how AI, automation, threat intelligence, emerging technologies and market shifts are reshaping cyber operations and managed services.
  • Collaborate with global teams, alliance partners, delivery leaders and practitioners to modernise offerings, operating models, service components and value propositions.
  • Drive standardisation, scalability and commercial viability across Cyber Defence offerings while balancing innovation, delivery practicality and market demand.
  • Shape the service roadmap and identify opportunities to uplift capabilities, introduce new solution patterns and strengthen differentiation in the market.

Internal and External Engagement

  • Partner with account teams, sector leaders and pursuit teams to shape opportunities and position Cyber Defence offerings in the key accounts.
  • Act as the solution and offering lead for strategic CMS opportunities, ensuring opportunities align to offering strategy, delivery capabilities and market differentiation.
  • Develop proposals, presentations, SOWs, pricing approaches and responses to RFIs/RFPs across Cyber Defence and broader Cyber Managed Services domains.
  • Support the transition from solutioning to delivery by ensuring clarity of scope, operating model, assumptions and service intent.
  • Educate account teams, sector leaders, alliances and broader stakeholders on evolving cyber defence trends, offering direction and differentiated value propositions.
  • Build strong market awareness by understanding client priorities, competitor movements, industry trends and evolving cyber risk landscapes.

Collaboration, Influence & Capability Building

  • Build strong relationships across global teams, product owners, alliance managers, delivery teams and client leadership to influence offering direction and adoption.
  • Foster collaboration between strategy, solutioning and delivery teams to ensure offerings remain practical, relevant and market ready.
  • Maintain strong awareness of industry developments and continuously develop professional and technical expertise.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong expertise in Cyber Defence, Cyber Operations and Cyber Managed Services, with deep understanding of how managed security services are evolving.
  • Demonstrated ability to own, shape or evolve offerings, portfolios, service catalogues or operating models.
  • Strong understanding of AI, automation and emerging technologies influencing cyber operations, threat detection, response and managed services delivery.
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with commercial pragmatism — translating market trends into scalable offerings and real client outcomes.
  • Strong market orientation with the ability to identify emerging opportunities, competitive shifts and client demand signals.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills across technical, delivery, executive and market-facing audiences.
  • Strong collaboration mindset with the ability to work effectively across geographies, functions and teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead proposals, shape growth strategies, and manage complex delivery.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing consulting team talent.
