Consultant – Government Incentives
The opportunity
An exciting opportunity to work with the dynamic, growing EY Government Incentives team. Our team is purpose-driven and committed to helping our clients access a variety of State and Federal government grants and incentives that allow for investment and growth to foster a better working world. Our role is to assist clients to identify and access incentives and capital in the form of funding, grants and Research & Development Tax incentives. We act as trusted advisors, by helping with innovation management and policy, preparing grant applications and assisting companies access R&D Tax incentive claims.
As a Consultant you will assist companies with accessing R&D incentives and grants across a variety of industry sectors which could include manufacturing, food and agribusiness, information technology, biotech/pharmaceutical and financial services to name a few. Our clients range from start-ups and entrepreneurs, to ASX listed clients and multinationals.
This is a hybrid position based in Naarm - Melbourne. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- If you enjoy problem solving, are curious about innovation and how Australian business are leading the global landscape, this could be the right opportunity for you
- Preparing grant applications and technical documentation with exposure to project development, economic evaluation and commercial decision-making, innovation, and commercialisation
- Assist with the preparation of R&D tax incentive claims including scoping interviews with technical teams to identify R&D eligible activities, preparation of technical descriptions and analysis of financial information
- Joining an industry leading team comprised of scientists, lawyers, accountants and engineers focused on enabling clients in their capital agenda; through accessing government grants and R&D incentives to help fund growth and investment
- Be mentored by experienced industry leaders that can support your learning and growth across high complexity projects in a dynamic environment
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong written and verbal communication, with willingness to learn by asking the right questions
- Ability to understand disparate sets of information and data; and a capacity to articulate scientific and technical information succinctly to different audiences in written reports
- Ability to work with excel and preparing financial models
- Undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications which may include Law, Science, Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Materials science desired) or Computer Science/IT related
