The opportunity
As our Billing Client Delivery Consultant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the success of complex client billing operations delivered through a leading digital platform. Sitting at the intersection of billing domain expertise, technical problem‑solving and senior client engagement, this is a high‑impact role where your work directly influences billing accuracy, regulatory compliance and customer experience.
This is a hybrid position based in Naarm – Melbourne / Wadawurrung
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex billing issues across end‑to‑end billing pathways, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely billing outcomes for clients.
- Act as the primary interface between clients and product and engineering teams, translating business rules, regulatory requirements and operational needs into clear delivery outcomes.
- You’ll act as the bridge between platform engineering teams and client billing outcome
- Translate complex requirements into delivery excellence, resolving issues before they impact customers, and driving continuous improvement across billing operations.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong experience in client delivery, product ownership or similar roles within complex delivery environments.
- Proven capability working in agile delivery models and multi‑stream delivery pipelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively at senior levels.
- Extensive experience and capabilities in transformation and delivery.
- Experience designing, managing and improving end‑to‑end customer journeys.
- Experience in utility or energy billing, or complex billing environments in adjacent industries such as telecommunications, financial services or water.
- End‑to‑end billing operations, back‑office processing and revenue assurance.
- Business process design and optimisation (L1–L3), Billing customer experience journeys, including redesign during system implementations or transformations.
- Working knowledge of financial accounting concepts, including GL mapping and system integrations.
- Exposure to billing product management, including tariff and rate configuration, pricing setup and billing execution.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in billing environments.
Technical exposure
- SQL
- Python or general software engineering concepts
- Understanding of SDLC and modern delivery practices
- Desirable if you have Jira, Asana, Miro, Datagrip, Databricks, GitHub, Datadog, Sentry.
