This GPS Finance Supervising Associate role will lead and continuously improve the project control activities for a sub-sector within the GPS practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with GPS Markets/Project Finance leader to establish a world-class project finance organization in support of EY’s growing GPS practice, with alignment to a subsector leader.
- Develop a strong working relationship with sub-sector leader, serving as a strategic and trusted business advisor
- Prepare and maintain EAC and ETC documentation and research solutions for program financial issues with recommendations to the engagement team leadership
- Play a key role in establishing and maturing the markets/project finance team for the GPS practice
- Participate in onboarding, training, development and day to day mentorship of Project Finance staff
- Support implementation of policies and procedures to ensure client engagements comply with US government regulatory (FAR, DFARS, CAS) requirements and EY internal requirements
- Participate in development of tools, processes, and procedures to monitor and manage engagement financials and optimize financial management at an account and sub-sector level
- Prepare annual budgets at an engagement level as well as monthly, annual and multi-year business forecasts, inclusive of existing engagement portfolio, new business pipeline and stretch goals
- Support external project audits with outside independent auditors and regulatory agencies
- Work with GPS Reporting lead to clarify reporting requirements in support of engagement, account and sub-sector financial management
- Play a coordinating role between engagement teams, PMOs, accounting, contracts, subcontracts and project setup.
- Actively socialize the impact of indirect rate application, and changes to rates, in project financial measurement
- Analyze and advise on the impact of pricing decisions as it relates to sub-sector and account financials
- Analyze and advise on engagement profitability with ability to run simulations to guide decision-making
- Ensure seamless support to GPS for borrowed and loaned practitioners
- Reviews contract awards and modifications to monitor value, funding and AR
- Advises on complex project setup and workforce management
- Support other ad hoc financial reporting and special projects as assigned
Skills and attributes for success
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills and experience building and maintaining financial models in Excel to aid in efficient analyses
- Exposure to planning and engagement financial management tools
- Intellectually curious with problem solving orientation. Not satisfied with easy or convenient answers
- Proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners and executives. Seen as a trusted and objective advisor
- Experience aligning cross-functional stakeholders with demonstrated aptitude in working effectively within a matrixed team across multiple functional areas

- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and external auditors
- A self-starter with the knack for problem solving and the curiosity to ask “why”
To qualify, candidates must have
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Extensive knowledge of FAR/CAS and other government contract accounting requirements
- Strong understanding of CAS and FAR Part 31
- Advanced knowledge of project accounting, including understanding of different contract types (CPFF, T&M, FFP) and indirect rate structures
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant government contractor finance experience in a CAS compliant environment
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a project control role
- A minimum of 2 years supervisory/mentor experience
- Experience supporting successful government audit(s) of accounting and finance policies and procedures
- Solid knowledge of Deltek Costpoint. Experience with or exposure to other tools is beneficial.
- Experience with project setup to include revenue recognition following ASC 606
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
