Ernst & Young (EY) US Government and Public Sector (GPS) practice is a robust and emerging practice with tremendous potential for growth - and we are prepared to tap into that potential. Our US GPS practice combines an understanding of the public sector’s diverse needs, focused on delivering improved public services, with private sector leading practices. Your key responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining critical documentation and knowledge assets, ensuring accessibility, compliance, and security. This role will play a vital part in streamlining document workflows, enhancing knowledge-sharing practices, and supporting operational efficiency within our organization.

Additionally, you will be responsible for providing dedicated support to the client by performing the following activities:
- Develop and implement document management and knowledge-sharing strategies to ensure effective information governance.
- Organize, maintain, and manage document repositories, ensuring proper version control and accessibility.
- Establish and enforce document classification, retention, and archiving policies.
- Work with stakeholders to identify knowledge gaps and develop solutions for capturing and disseminating key organizational knowledge.
- Manage collaboration platforms such as SharePoint, Confluence, or other document management systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, industry best practices, and client policies related to document and knowledge management.
- Train employees on document and knowledge management procedures and best practices.
- Support content migration efforts during system upgrades or organizational changes, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Work closely with IT and security teams to ensure proper access controls and data protection measures are in place.
- Track and report on knowledge management initiatives and document control processes to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Skills and attributes for Success
- Proficiency in document management systems such as SharePoint, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of information governance, data classification, and document retention policies.
- Experience working in a federal or government contracting environment is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to train and support end-users on document and knowledge management best practices.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Library Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in document management, knowledge management, or records management.
Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Knowledge of NIST, ISO 9001, and other compliance standards related to document and knowledge management.
- Certifications such as Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Knowledge Management Certification (CKM) are a plus.
