The opportunity
In one country or many, you will have the opportunity to lead integrated, consistent and high-quality Accounting Compliance & Reporting, controllership and Finance Managed Services (FMS) engagements that help clients strengthen their finance, accounting close, internal controls, governance and reporting operations. This may include statutory reporting, tax accounting support, month-end close, general ledger oversight, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting, audit support, service transition, process improvement and technology-enabled delivery.
As a Manager, you will play a key role in shaping finance solutions, managing client relationships, coordinating cross-border teams and overseeing delivery quality, risk, staffing, timelines and financial performance. You will also support business development, proposal development, solution design and pricing for FMS and related finance transformation opportunities.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager, you will lead Accounting Compliance & Reporting (ACR) and FMS engagements from solution development through transition and steady-state delivery. Your role will involve assessing client needs, shaping practical ACR and finance managed services solutions, coordinating delivery across EY and client teams, and driving disciplined execution, quality, risk management and continuous improvement.

• Lead controllership activities including month-end and year-end close coordination, general ledger review, balance sheet substantiation, journal entry oversight, intercompany accounting, accruals, provisions and management reporting review.

• Design practical ACR and FMS solutions across statutory reporting, accounting compliance, tax accounting support, Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), financial planning and analysis, controllership support, close and reporting processes, and shared services / Global Business Services (GBS) transformation.
• Support business development, proposal development and pricing for ACR and FMS opportunities by defining the delivery approach, scope, assumptions, staffing model, commercial inputs and client-facing presentation materials.
• Lead ACR and FMS service transition and onboarding, including process documentation, service calendars, issue logs, reporting packs and readiness for steady-state delivery.
• Manage steady-state ACR and FMS delivery across a portfolio of engagements, covering quality, risk, staffing, timelines, client communications, governance and financial performance.
• Coordinate central execution support delivery where relevant, ensuring alignment with agreed scope, delivery standards, reporting requirements and stakeholder expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, automation, analytics and AI-enabled operations to improve efficiency, control, visibility and service quality.
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders, EY delivery teams, local-country teams and internal quality, risk and commercial stakeholders to support effective delivery and issue resolution.
Skills and attributes for success
• Strong knowledge of statutory reporting, financial accounting, local GAAP / IFRS requirements and finance operations processes.
• Ability to lead finance managed services engagements across transition, stabilisation and steady-state delivery.
• Experience managing functional finance scopes such as R2R, P2P, O2C, close and reporting, management reporting, reconciliations and controllership support.
• Ability to review and challenge process design, controls, reporting outputs, workpapers, reconciliations, service metrics and issue resolution plans.
• Strong controllership experience, including close governance, general ledger review, balance sheet substantiation, variance analysis, internal controls, audit support and issue resolution.
• Strong project and engagement management skills, including planning, resourcing, stakeholder coordination, timeline management and financial performance monitoring.
• Ability to identify process improvement, automation, analytics and AI-enabled opportunities and translate them into practical delivery improvements.
• Comfortable using technology tools to improve work delivery, with a proactive mindset to adopt automation, analytics, AI-enabled tools and digital ways of working to enhance efficiency, quality and client service.
• Ability to develop compelling presentations and translate complex finance, controllership and transformation topics into clear, structured and practical messages for senior stakeholders.
• Strong client-service mindset, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations and build confidence with senior client stakeholders.
• Ability to coach, supervise and develop team members while maintaining quality, risk and compliance standards.
To qualify for the role you must have

• Experience in statutory reporting, controllership, month-end close, general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting, finance operations or shared services / GBS environments.
• Experience managing client engagements, delivery teams, workplans, timelines, quality requirements and client communications.
• Strong understanding of finance process improvement, controls, operating models and technology-enabled delivery.
• Good working knowledge of ERP systems and finance tools, with strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients, partners, internal teams and cross-border stakeholders.
• Strong presentation and executive communication skills, with the ability to structure senior-level materials, communicate insights clearly and support effective decision-making.
