Data Engineer - EY GDS Spain - Hybrid

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our EY GDS Consulting Services team focused on providing cutting - edge IT solutions dedicated to de biggest maket players in EMEIA region.

As a member of our team in GDS office in Malaga, Spain, you’ll have a chance to extend your knowledge & experience by working on the interesting projects with the newest technologies and approaches. You’ll support clients in choosing the most suitable business solution and take part in digital transformation. 

Your key responsibilities

Opportunity to work within EY to work in EMEIA Financial Services Wavespace, Artificial Intelligence Center (Spain). The Wavespace looks for people passionate about solving business problems using leading-edge technology. The team is particularly keen to hear from those with experience in ETL/ELT processes, Data Governance, OLAP technologies, data modeling, data profiling, and SQL. 

The candidate will be part of the DnA department within the financial services area.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor/ Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or any relavant discipline
• Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer) with a track record of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large datasets
• Experienced with any ETL tools such as Talend, SSIS, Pentaho, etc. 
• Deep fluency in at least one backend programming language (Python 3+, Java 8, Scala, etc.)
• At least one year of experience in the following skills: 

  • Developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using: ETL/ELT processes, Data governance, OLAP technologies, data modeling, data profiling, SQL.

  • Experience with at least one relational database technology such as MS SQL, MySQL, or Oracle.

  • Experience with distributed frameworks like Apache Spark or Apache Hadoop.

  • Linux shell scripting.

• Familiar with reporting tools such as Tableau, Power Bi , Spotfire or Qlik

• Critical thinking capabilities, with ability to see the ‘big picture’ while also diving into the details when necessary

• Fluent in English

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience leading large-scale analytics projects using Microsoft Azure Cloud Services
• Experience with the following technologies: CosmosDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j, Solr/Elasticsearch, Redis
• Hands-on experience developing microservices-based architectures and the technologies that enable them (containers, REST APIs, messaging queues, etc.)
• Experience with Team collaboration tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, etc.
• Experience with unit testing and continuous integration
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
