The opportunity

 

This role will help drive global DE&I strategy and ensure DE&I future-oriented practices are embedded into business operations and culture. This position will also help to manage and optimize relationships with business and Talent leaders at Area and Region level. It will liaise with Region DEI specialists to identify and share best practices to support Region implementation of DE&I programs. The role will work closely with global DE&I leaders to help define and drive strategy and best practices inkey global activation DE&I topic/discipline. 


Your key responsibilities

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of guidance, policies and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce/promote inclusiveness, including leveraging knowledge of required supporting internal and external resources and relationships.

  • Successfully explain difficult concepts and issues. Transpose subject matter expertise and concepts into understandable, relatable messaging, talk track and materials.

  • Create, develop and manage scope and project plan and schedule for complex projects.

  • Evaluate and report project/program progress in terms of quality and performance metrics appropriate to the program/project.

  • Plan and assign resources to tasks as needed. Lead projects where appropriate and manages resources, tasks and costs based on project plan. 

  • Assess and introduce diversity, equity & inclusiveness initiatives appropriate to the unique needs of the firm.

  • May develop procedures and processes that apply within and across teams.

  • Identify and select appropriate change management tools relative to firm-wide culture transformation as it relates to diversity, equity & inclusiveness. 

  • Interfaces and works with field representatives and Inclusiveness Leaders.

   

  Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Applies judgment in tailoring methodologies, processes and practices to specific requirements of programs/projects as well as business units.

  • Must acquire a strong understanding of key business and financial drivers that determine the firm’s success, and identify how to incorporate firm-wide diversity initiatives.

  • Requires decision making regarding project requirements and in assigning appropriate resources.

  • Identifies alternative solutions to meet the same project/program goals.

  • May be involved in external diversity conferences and organizations.


Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Receives general direction but works on projects/programs with a fair amount of independence, work may be reviewed 

  • May assign projects and tasks to project team members and/or direct reports and supervises and reviews completion of tasks.

  • Engaging communications: Ability to articulate underlying theory into simple, relatable messaging

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in using AI

  • Must be well organized, detail-oriented and able to take initiative.

  • Understands and applies recognized project management standards (scope, scheduling, planning, time management, resource management, communication and cost management

  • Ability to work under pressure, and to deliver fast materials that require little re-work

  • Basic PC skills required: proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Powerpoint

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • Approximately 8+ years of related experience in DE&I or Talent preferred

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong teaming skills; collaborate effectively across talent ecosystem and wider EY firm 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strive for delivering the highest quality in everything 

  • ability to operate within budget and effective time frames

  • Strong research and analytical skills to track and interpret trending directions for specialism and identify potential future options

  • ability to cope with ambiguity to drive change and performance outcomes in a complex and agile environment

  • Resilience in light of challenges and set-backs

  • Educated to degree level. Higher professional or master’s qualification in a related discipline is preferred, not required

 

What we look for

  • Significant experience in a closely related Talent or client-serving role bringing insights and experience of DE&I  practices, trends and initiatives 

  • Demonstrable experience of communicating and coaching people across multiple levels of an organization 

  • Demonstrable experience of collaborating with Talent or business colleagues to understand and interpret business issues and of successfully advising colleagues on the appropriate course of action, including proposing changes to existing ways of working to optimize performance

  • Strong experience of working effectively in globally dispersed teams to enhance services, frameworks, processes and standards 

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a central team to manage networks and of sharing insights and best practices to help enhance service delivery and performance at a local level 

  • Demonstrable experience of working flexibly as part of a project team/squad to providing subject matter expertise and ensure the effective design and quality of service solutions 

  • Demonstrable experience of working in fast-paced, ambiguous and volatile environments to deliver required results
