The opportunity
We are looking for a Core Banking Product Owner / Payments Domain Expert with deep expertise in Temenos T24 and Temenos Payments Hub (TPH) to lead business requirement engineering, process design and solution delivery for payments and core banking, ensuring alignment with delivery timelines and architectural standards. The role covers Temenos Transact/T24, TPH, SWIFT, SEPA, TARGET Services, ISO 20022 (MX), and clearing & settlement infrastructures, supporting payment processing, integration and transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities
-
Core Banking (Temenos Transact/T24): Expert knowledge of Transact/T24; understand customer, account, product, transaction and accounting flows. Configure products, parameters, workflows and interfaces; analyse how Core Banking transactions trigger downstream payment, cash, securities and accounting events across up/downstream applications.
-
Payments Hub (TPH) & SWIFT/ISO 20022: Hands-on TPH configuration and support for domestic, cross-border and international payments – routing, enrichment, validation, screening, repair, exception handling and settlement. Configure payment schemes, clearing routes, currencies, countries, participants and correspondent relationships; design payment flows between Transact, TPH and external clearing/settlement infrastructures. Diagnose payment-processing failures and configuration/integration issues, considering volume and performance for high-throughput environments. Configure SWIFT connectivity; strong practical knowledge of SWIFT FIN/MT and ISO 20022/MX – how MX messages are generated, enriched, validated, transformed and consumed; troubleshoot MX generation from Temenos and map business transactions to ISO 20022 messages (pacs.008, pacs.009, pacs.002, camt.052, camt.053, camt.054, pain.001, pain.002).
-
SEPA & European Clearing: Strong knowledge of SEPA schemes (SCT, SCT Inst, SDD) and European clearing/settlement mechanisms, routing, participant relationships, cut-offs, settlement cycles, rejects/returns and exception processing. Understand liquidity/prefunding, end-to-end flows across Core Banking–TPH–CSMs–settlement infrastructure, and direct/indirect participation models.
-
TARGET Services & High-Value Payments: Strong knowledge of TARGET services, RTGS processing and central bank money settlement. Understand settlement accounts, payment queues, priority processing, cut-offs, intraday liquidity, settlement windows, payment status/exception handling, and related ISO 20022 messaging. Integration experience with central-bank/market infrastructures highly desirable.
-
Clearing & Settlement: Strong grasp of clearing vs. settlement, net vs. gross settlement, matching, settlement accounts/positions, failed settlements and reconciliation. Understand liquidity implications and operational dependencies across Core Banking, Payments, Securities and market infrastructure. Experience with CGS or comparable infrastructure highly desirable; able to explain end-to-end flow from Core Banking through FX/Cash, Payments, Correspondent/Clearing, Settlement and Accounting.
-
Desirable: Experience with Temenos SaaS + TPH in a live production banking environment.
