Tax Provision Review Specialist
The opportunity
The Tax Provision Review Specialist is responsible for assisting in the preparation and review of tax provisions in accordance with LUX GAAP, IFRS (IAS 12), as relevant accounting standards. This role involves leading tax provision reviews, providing technical expertise, and supporting our clients with their tax reporting obligations.
Your key responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reviews of tax provisions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ASC 740, LUXGAAP, IFRS, and other applicable standards.
- Serve as a technical expert on tax provision matters, providing guidance and support to clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with clients' finance and accounting departments to ensure tax provision data is accurately integrated into financial statements.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing training and development to enhance their tax provision skills.
- Stay current with tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards that impact tax provision reporting.
- Work closely with external auditors during client audits, facilitating the provision review process.
- Develop and implement tax provision methodologies and best practices for clients.
- Assist in managing client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to clients and firm leadership on tax provision findings and recommendations.
- Participate in business development activities, contributing to the growth of the firm's tax provision practice.
Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Certified accountant or Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting with a focus on tax provision, as well as a strong understanding of IFRS (IAS 12) and LUX GAAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey tax matters to non-tax professionals.
