Our Team: Financial Accounting & Advisory Services (FAAS)
At EY, the FAAS Team provides varying types of accounting and non-accounting services covering wide range of topics and experiences including (but not limited to):
- GAAP conversions
- complex accounting assessments
- financial reporting and consolidation
- finance process improvement
- financial analysis
- finance IT system migration
- audit remediation
- internal controls assessment
- regulatory reporting
- treasury and hedging
- technical finance training
- benchmarking and market analysis
Considering the close integration between finance and risk, the FAAS Team not only work with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) but also with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in navigating and addressing financial, operational, and regulatory challenges that clients are facing.
Our team works with companies across various industries such as banks and other financial institutions, funds (private equity, private debt, real estate, etc) and commercial companies.
The opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant to join our expanding FAAS team and support our ambitious growth plans in the financial services sector. As trusted advisors, our FAAS teams help clients navigate finance and reporting challenges, driven by the changing economic and regulatory environment. We also act as agents for transformation of the finance function, guiding clients on their journey towards continuous innovation, data, process optimization, and the adoption of new technologies. The services we provide to our clients englobe (but not limited to) the following:

- Financial planning and analysis
- Management Information System (MIS)
- Performance management processes

- Outsourced accounting services or interim assistance
- Accounting & Reporting Advisory

- Identification of business requirements and vendor selection for the finance function
- Business support to the implementation of relevant IT applications
- End-to-end process automation for the following finance processes:
- Financial closing process, consolidation and reporting
- Cost accounting and budgeting process
- Treasury

- Definition and update of policies and procedures
- Finance process optimization
- Optimization of internal controls over financial reporting
- Regulatory reporting support

- Bridging finance and risk
- Data governance, strategy and data quality management around the finance and risk function
- Review of prudential ratios
- Support in credit risk management and remediation of supervisory recommendations

Skills and attributes for success:
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Strong financial, and regulatory skills to deliver finance projects.
- A prior experience in at least 3 of these topics:
- Financial planning & analysis
- Internal controls
- Financial/regulatory reporting
- Accounting
- Financial closing and consolidation
- Treasury and cash management
- System implementation
- Project management
- Transformation and/or optimization of finance processes
- Knowledge of basic prudential reporting requirements and processes for banks, investment firms and funds
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Solid understanding of IFRS and/or LuxGAAP standards.
- Proficiency in reviewing financial statements.
- Knowledge of financial data analysis and data visualization.
- Knowledge for finance technology innovation and automation.
- Proficiency in office-related computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., VBA, SQL).
Your key responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional advisory services to our clients, addressing their most pressing and complex challenges
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including C-level executives while developing commercial awareness
- Support in internal or external projects with other service lines / EY offices.
- Challenge the existing and provide alternative viewpoints to drive our team successes
- Leverage our delivery tools and service enablers, you’ll assist in planning and executing small-scale to large-scale, complex projects and play a key role in the successful delivery of services to our clients
- Supervise and coach Junior Consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
What we look for:
- A university degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
- 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience in an Audit/Consulting role in financial services, or a transformation role in the industry, ideally in banking, investment funds, investment firms or insurance companies
- Fluency in English and French; additional languages like German or Italian are an asset
- Strong writing and synthesizing skills
- Curiosity, willingness to learn and ability to adapt quickly to new or changing situations
- Strong team spirit and ability to work efficiently in a team set-up
- Ability to coach people, demonstrating strong ownership, accountability and autonomy
- An appetite for project management
