Americas BMC Leader, Director - Tax

The opportunity  
The Global Tax BMC and Americas BMC teams are seeking a creative, strategic and highly motivated senior executive to lead and deliver programs and activities that drive positive reputation, relationships and growth for the Americas Tax practice, including Law and People Advisory sub-service lines. Massive change is dominating the tax, legal and business environment as the global marketplace experiences unprecedented developments in geopolitics, tax policy, climate change and workforce dynamics. Compounding all this is the rapid pace of technology advancements and affordability is making it easier for companies to challenge all functions and reimagine how they work, operate and add value to their organizations. Your key responsibilities

The Americas Tax BMC Leader is a key role within the Global Tax BMC team and the Americas BMC team, charged with shaping leadership positioning, engaging communications, priority solutions go-to-market campaigns and marketing programs that generate impact for the Americas Tax practice. Driving collaboration across the Tax business, this leader will develop integrated communications and marketing strategies that support the Americas Tax priorities and goals while elevating the EY Tax purpose, brand and market position. The leader will oversee the development and execution of internal communications strategies, brand-focused initiatives and marketing campaigns for the Tax practice, Law and People Advisory Services across the Americas regions, including a differentiated and strong focus on the US.

 

Leading a dedicated Americas/US BMC team, while also coordinating and collaborating with Global Tax BMC colleagues and the Americas BMC team, this leader will orchestrate programs that position EY Tax as the most respected, preferred tax professional services provider, and in doing so, instil confidence and pride among our professionals. This role is responsible for leading integrated demand-generation campaigns that leverage distinctive, relevant content to engage with an expanding base of client buyers.

 

Supporting the Americas Vice Chair – Tax, the Americas Deputy – Tax, the effective candidate will be able to set the leadership communications agenda and develop messaging that both engages and inspires internal and external stakeholders. Building the external profiles and visibility of the Americas Vice Chair Tax and other Americas Tax Leaders is an increasingly important responsibility.

The Americas Tax BMC Leader is accountable for providing strong leadership, management and governance that upholds EY standards, quality and brand guidance.

  • Serve as BMC executive sponsor of signature events, (i.e. Executive Tax Update, International Tax Conference, Empowering Women in Tax) overseeing content, presentation execution and brand elements
  • Work directly with the Americas Vice Chair – Tax to execute all aspects of brand, external visibility and communications, while also providing counsel to other key Tax leaders
  • Collaborate with Global Tax BMC and Americas BMC colleagues on key programs, campaigns and initiatives, including media relations and social media, that span markets and continents to support our global mindset, consistent branding and relevant messaging
  • As a member of the Americas Tax Leadership team, provide BMC counsel that inspires our Tax, People Advisory Services and Law professionals on how we can succeed in the markets we serve

 

The position will be required to build and maintain strong relationships and work extremely collaboratively across the BMC team and across the service lines of Tax, Assurance, Consulting, and Strategy and Transactions. This role will be a core member of the BMC Tax leadership team.

 

Success in this role will be demonstrated through the establishment of trusted BMC advisor relationships with Americas Tax executives, delivering robust reporting to the Americas/US and Global Tax BMC team, and leading a high-performing Americas / US Tax BMC team as they manage key stakeholders, devise and execute marketing and communications plans.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Working knowledge of EY, the professional services sector, or matrix organizations, including across different cultures and geographies
  • Significant strategic internal communications experience with proven track record in supporting executive teams in a high-performing environment
  • A track record of developing creative and credible ideas for content and communications
  • Strong understanding of business strategy and economic concepts and disruptive innovation required to keep up with latest developments, including the environmental factors that may impact EY and its markets, particularly in the areas of technology and regulation
  • Experience in a cross-border role, successfully managing multiple complex projects at an Area or Global level
  • 10 years+ mid-senior level internal and external communications experience in B2B environment
  • Demonstrated experience in digital marketing and channel management
  • Good understanding of the relationship between internal communications and external marketing
  • Excellent writing, communications and presentation skills and abilities
  • Practical understanding of public relations and social media strategy and ability to see through execution
  • Proven experience in program and event concept and content execution, and the design and delivery of project KPIs and metrics

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • High level of influencing and networking skills
  • Ability to challenge views/perspectives while securing buy-in within BMC and beyond
  • Experience with the full spectrum of delivery channels to deliver programs to targeted audiences

What we offer
 
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $185,700 to $367,700. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $222,900 to $417,900. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
