This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join EY’s specialist Capital Asset Tax Services (‘CATS’) team in London. The team help support and deliver pursuits and projects across all business sectors. This role will provide an opportunity to be involved in a fast growth part of the General Compliance and Reporting department, working for clients across the UK but with a specific focus on London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver capital allowances, land remediation relief, and other construction-related tax claims for a diverse portfolio of clients across the property, infrastructure, hospitality, and renewable energy sectors.
  • Work directly with clients, project teams, and advisers to analyse construction expenditure, review technical documentation, and identify opportunities to generate tax savings and commercial value.
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and within agreed deadlines.
  • Support, coach, and review the work of junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, becoming a trusted adviser on construction and property-related tax matters.
  • Stay up to date with legislative developments, industry trends, and emerging technologies that support the delivery of construction and property tax claims.

Skills and attributes for success 

What we look for

  • 3+ years experience in capital allowances, construction and property tax, land remediation relief, or a related specialist area.
  • Strong understanding of the construction, property, or infrastructure sectors, with the ability to interpret technical information and apply tax legislation in a practical context.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience managing multiple workstreams and delivering high-quality client service.
  • Professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA, ATT, MRICS, or equivalent, or working towards qualification.
