The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Tax Assistant to join the Equity & Employment Tax team. EY offers excellent opportunities to build client relationships early in your career and to be involved in the day‑to‑day management and delivery of our services across a broad range of issues, going beyond both tax compliance and advisory.

Your key responsibilities 

• Supporting the management of client portfolios.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering consistently high levels of service.
• Contributing to the successful delivery of employment tax projects and ensuring technical accuracy.
• Supporting the day‑to‑day delivery of both compliance and advisory work.
• Contributing to business development by proactively managing existing client relationships.
• Ensuring adherence to Quality and Risk Management processes.

 Skills and Attributes for Succes

• Prior experience as an equity and/or employment tax practitioner is desirable although candidates with transferable skills and experience will be considered.
• Enthusiastic and energetic; able to embrace new ways of working.
• Team player: ability to integrate with new teams quickly
• Outgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality output
• Strong technical skills and keen to develop further
• Ability to build strong client relationship
• Project management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
• ATT/ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA/Law qualification desirable, support can be offered to candidates seeking to study towards a professional qualification
• Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards
• Client focused and commercially aware
• Relationship management skills with ability to manage client expectations
• Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
• Excellent communicator in range of situations both written and oral
• Experience working within professional services
