Our UK Insurance Technology practice empowers some of the biggest Insurance clients to solve their most complex business problems and transform their organisations through embedding the latest technology.

The opportunity
As part of the EY Consulting Insurance Technology practice, you will have the opportunity to work across a portfolio of engagements that will challenge you in areas such as Insurance Core Platform implementations, leveraging emerging technology within the insurance domain, technology enabled business transformations. Our EMEIA focus means that our team has a footprint that spans several geographies in Europe and continued investment in our practice has grown the team circa 30% year-on-year.
 
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with an agile mindset, problem solving skills, industry knowledge of Insurance and/or Technology Consulting practices to supplement our strong capabilities and fuel our continued growth.

Your key responsibilities

•    Work collaboratively with clients, establishing a business-driven vision for the future of their solution architecture 
•    Create IT strategies and architecture roadmaps, including transition stages
•    Understand many of the key components of the architecture stack, including business, process, data, application, integration, network, security, and infrastructure architecture
•    Create artefacts at appropriate levels of detail to be able to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
•    Provide technical expertise for the evaluation and selection of software products, standards and services
•    Support architecture governance using industry good practice, IT standards, and client technical policy
•    Leading EY practice and people development activities
•    Building and leading high performing teams

 

To qualify for the role, you must have
•    Experience of delivering work in a top tier consulting firm (Big 4, Accenture, IBM etc.) or technology / service provider 

•    Experience with current technologies, and understanding of trends and implications on the insurance industry, including cloud architecture & providers, integration tools & approaches, and artificial intelligence methods & techniques.
•    A working knowledge of at least one sector of the Insurance industry, such as General, Life & Pensions, London Markets (Specialty) or Healthcare, including the key terms and concepts
•    Experience of working as an architect in IT strategy, IT transformation, or IT cost reduction projects working with senior stakeholders
•    Knowledge of the common functions in a typical IT organisation
•    Passion for the delivery of technology solutions that have a positive impact
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Ideally, you’ll also have
•    Extensive experience as an Architect in Financial Services Technology 

•    Preparation of proposals and sales materials
•    Experience of digital transformation and technologies
•    Knowledge of DevOps and its adoption 
•    Experience of working with emerging technologies such as AWS or Azure cloud, integration, AI, or mobile computing 
•    Understanding of TOGAF or Zachman
