Senior Manager – Enterprise Architect – Platforms

At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The opportunity

Our Banking and Capital Markets Technology practice is growing. We are looking to hire a seasoned Enterprise Architect into our newly rebranded Platforms team. Our Platforms team helps clients to deliver technology enabled transformation, either through the delivery and customisation of third party platforms, or as part of teams designing and delivering bespoke solutions.

In the role of Senior Manager - Enterprise Architect within our team, you will spearhead pivotal initiatives for our clients that are crucial to their business success. Your responsibilities will include engaging with clients across all organizational levels, delivering state-of-the-art technology solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding them through infrastructure modernization, addressing regulatory changes, shaping their digital client strategy, elevating their client service experience, and optimizing their long-term business composition.

Your key responsibilities

As an Enterprise Architect at EY, client engagements will typically fall into two categories.

The first, where we are helping our clients Enterprise Architecture or CTO functions to mature – this could be through the delivery of principles and patterns, developing ways of working, establishing clear roles and responsibilities and governance frameworks. This will usually be in the context of a technology modernisation journey, and in particular as part of the journey to cloud.

The second is where you would use your broad EA (and Solution Architecture) skills as part of the delivery of scalable, resilient, end to end client solutions – ensuring that designs are fully considered, robust and in line with the required architectural standards set by and with our clients.

As well as client delivery, you would be involved in the sale of new engagements – majoring on content and bringing enormous credibility to the overall proposition. You would also play a key role in our practice, developing our junior people, and playing an active role in the various communities of interest that exist across our major technology and business domains.

Skills and attributes for success

We’re looking for people who can demonstrate strong experience of Enterprise Architecture within the Financial Services sector. You should have experience of supporting project delivery, with an ability to develop and deliver high quality output against project objectives whilst meeting tight deadlines.

Aligned with these technical skills you’ll also have the natural curiosity and ability to understand and navigate complex processes and ambiguous client requirements, combined with a desire to initiate and effect continual improvement.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Extensive experience of Enterprise Architecture, either as a consultant or working in the EA function of a leading organisation
  • Performed at least in two of the following roles for a number of years: Application Architect, Cloud Toolchain & Deployment; DevSecOps / SDLC toolchain; Engineering Experiences; Governance; Pattern Enablement; Practices, Telemetry & Automated CI/CD; Quality Architecture (including testing tools).
  • Proven experience of establishing modern, efficient development practices and tooling for engineers and developers.
  • Proven experience of developing new solutions with clients to respond to the evolving technology landscape.
  • Extensive experience of creating Technical Solution Architecture
  • Ability to layer business domain and use case knowledge into the design and assessment of solution architecture options.
  • Ability to act as a conduit between business line and technology functions.
  • A deep understanding of modern and emerging technology and ways of working, and the technical gravitas to go “toe to toe” with senior technology leaders at our clients. You will be completely comfortable across domains such as Cloud, FinOps and DevSecOps.
  • Proven experience of delivering business and technology transformation; e.g. ability to provide clear guidance and documentation to enable development and engineering teams to quick and secure path to delivery and operation.
  • Recognised qualification (e.g. TOGAF) and practical experience of applying architectural frameworks in practice.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Extensive experience of financial services – banking, investment banking, and payments domains will be of particular interest.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment that impact technology organisations.
  • You will be naturally curious and will no doubt have explored many other domains such as AI, GenAI, and Distributed Ledger Technology.
  • Prior consulting experience.
