Senior Manager - AI Architect - AI Tech Transformation - TC
The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Manager, AI Architect specializing in generative AI to lead the architecture and delivery of complex GenAI engagements for our clients. This is a senior delivery role: you will own the architecture of significant GenAI workstreams and programs, lead delivery teams day to day, and ensure solutions scale reliably in production. You will also translate complex technology into clear, persuasive narratives for senior client stakeholders, making strong communication central to the role.
Your key responsibilities
List of key deliverables/responsibilities Delivery of Complex Engagements
- Own the architecture and technical delivery of complex GenAI engagements or major workstreams, from design through production rollout.
- Lead cross-functional delivery teams (architects, engineers, data specialists) across the engagement lifecycle.
- Ensure solutions are enterprise-grade: scalable, secure, resilient, performant, and cost-optimized in production.
- Drive delivery governance: architecture decisions, technical risk management, dependencies, quality gates, and blocker resolution.
- Apply and extend engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and accelerators to improve delivery velocity and consistency.
- Own technical outcomes and accountability for delivery quality, timelines, and measurable business impact within your scope.
Technical Direction
- Define end-to-end generative AI architectures: LLM selection, RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, agentic workflows, and enterprise integration.
- Architect solutions for high-value insurance use cases (claims intake automation, submission triage, document intelligence, underwriting copilots, policy Q&A, contact-center copilots).
- Design RAG systems at scale: chunking strategies, embeddings, vector stores, retrieval tuning, and grounding to reduce hallucination.
- Design multi-agent and tool-calling workflows that automate complex insurance processes.
- Set LLMOps and quality standards: prompt engineering, evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, versioning, and cost/latency optimization.
- Apply responsible AI governance: hallucination controls, PII handling, bias mitigation, explainability, auditability, and regulatory compliance (NAIC, GDPR, EU AI Act).
- Oversee integration with core insurance platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens) and enterprise data/content systems.
Leadership & Communication
- Serve as a senior technical authority and trusted advisor to client stakeholders and program leadership.
- Translate complex GenAI concepts, tradeoffs, and risks into clear, persuasive narratives for non-technical and senior audiences.
- Craft and deliver compelling presentations and demos that build client confidence.
- Align diverse stakeholders (business, IT, risk, compliance) around a shared architecture and delivery approach.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of architects and GenAI engineers; uphold technical standards and build capability.
Skills and attributes for success
- Skills required Strong executive presence; comfortable influencing senior client stakeholders.
- A clear communicator who turns technical complexity into clarity and momentum.
- Hands-on delivery leadership; thrives on owning complex engagements end to end.
- Commercially minded and outcome-focused.
To qualify for the role;
- Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in technology, with a strong track record delivering complex enterprise programs and 2+ years delivering production generative AI initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience owning architecture and delivery of enterprise-grade systems in production.
- Deep, hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or open-weight models like Llama/Mistral) and orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent).
- Proven expertise in RAG design, embeddings, and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, Azure AI Search).
- Experience with agentic architectures, function/tool calling, and structured outputs.
- Strong prompt engineering, evaluation, and LLM guardrail/safety experience.
- Experience with cloud GenAI platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI) and LLMOps tooling.
- Solid understanding of scalable system design, API design, enterprise integration patterns, and secure handling of sensitive data.
- Strong grasp of responsible AI, model governance, and emerging AI regulation.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to make complex concepts accessible to senior, non-technical audiences.
The following will be an advantage;
- Desired Criteria Experience delivering GenAI solutions in insurance or broader financial services.
- Familiarity with insurance core platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens) and document-heavy workflows (ACORD forms, loss runs, policy documents).
- Track record scaling GenAI from proof-of-concept to production.
- Relevant cloud or AI certifications (cloud architect, AI/ML specialty, TOGAF).
