Senior Consultant, Wealth & Asset Management Risk & Regulatory Advisory
EY's Financial Services practice is a unique industry focused business unit that provides a broad range of integrated services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker dealers, asset managers, insurance and energy trading companies.
EY UK's Wealth & Asset Management Risk & Regulation Team works across the wealth and asset management market with a diverse portfolio of clients. We help them strengthen risk and compliance, deliver regulatory change and transform how their risk and compliance functions operate, increasingly using data, automation and AI.
The Wealth & Asset Management Risk & Regulation Team focuses on delivering lasting benefits to our clients by helping them make better business decisions through more effective, efficient and forward-looking risk and compliance management.
The opportunity
Our objective is to be the market leader in supporting the CRO and CCO agenda. The sector is changing quickly. Firms face new regulation, pressure on margins, platform and operating model consolidation, and the arrival of AI in both the front office and the control functions. That makes this an exciting time to join us.
The Wealth & Asset Management Risk & Regulation Team offers both breadth and depth across Regulatory, Compliance and Risk Management initiatives. Our work ranges from targeted advice on specific parts of the Conduct and Risk Management Frameworks, through to large Risk and Compliance Transformation programmes that redesign operating models, modernise controls and put technology and AI to work, collaborating with multiple EY teams
Your key responsibilities

- Designing and transforming risk and compliance operating models, including target state design and delivery
- Designing and reviewing end to end risk management frameworks, RCSAs and control environments
- Using data, automation and AI to make risk and compliance more efficient and insight driven, such as automated controls testing, monitoring and surveillance
- Helping firms govern their own use of AI responsibly, with frameworks that keep humans in the lead
- Regulatory due diligence on transactions, helping buyers and investors understand the risk and regulatory position of a target
- Designing and reviewing governance and organisational structures
- Risk culture, and embedding ownership so that controls work in practice as well as on paper
You will:
- Contribute to the articulation of EY findings, conclusions and recommendations in writing or verbally
- Support the analysis of emerging issues, including the impact of AI on the sector, the articulation of an EY point of view and the development of EY propositions
- Use AI tools in your own day to day delivery to work smarter and bring fresh insight to clients
- Support engagement planning and management, and lead small teams on wealth and asset management engagements
- Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support and updating senior members on progress
- Support bids and proposals for new client opportunities and grow existing valued relationship
To qualify for the role, you must have some or all of the following:
- Experience of Wealth and/or Asset Manager’s risk experience at a major asset manager, wealth manager or intermediary or another consulting firm
- Up to date knowledge of the regulatory environment impacting Wealth & Asset Managers
